Also if you just use a pump you'll need a prefilter of somekind-Anne

What are you trying to elimanate?

UV will help with green water and some parasites but will not take out milky water or alage growing on surfaces.

I'm trying to eliminate this bacteria bloom.
I can't get it to go away..

I don't think a UV will do ya any good it has never worked on my milky water tanks, but I will fire mine up and let ya know since I have one in the same shape now. I would say increase you bio load in the filter to allow more bacteria to grow that always seemed to do it for me.

If this is the canister filter tank try adding in more cremanic rings or pot scrubbers for surface area for the bacteria to grow on.

Jag - just to let you know 12+ hours and the water is still the same. I get a bacterial bloom everytime I dose with calcium and with my normal filtration it clears in 24 to 36 hours. So I can say at this point the UV is not making a difference I will let you know what it looks like in the morning.

ok thanks, let me know the results

Still a little cloudy but slowly improving. This is nothing outside of the norm of my standard filtration so I have to say no impact.

is this the 29 you are trying to clear?

is this the 29 you are trying to clear?

Yes

Seems to be getting worse a little more each day..:headshake2:
I think I might have to try some Seachen Clarity to fix this problem and hope that it doesn't return. Intense light is probably feeding this problem, even with short photo period, it doesn't go away.
