Is your fish smarter than a 5th grader?

I would have to say my BGK as he can tell the difference between the members of my family. He will only come out when I am feeding the tank and come to the top to be hand fed. (He only just a little spoilt).
 
Well, let's call my lovely brig snailys "fish" while I brag about them right now :grinyes: My odd shelled fish are sooo smart! When I feed the other fish in the tank, and it's not an odd-shelled-fish-jello day, then they'll all swarm to the surface and have me hand feed them shrimp!!! Also, when I have a breeder box in there, they see that on the handles there's air trapped there! So instead of going all the way to the top of the tank, they pull their siphons up under the handle for air! *lazy* They're right after my heart! My odd shelled fish are the best!!! ;)

They can distinguish the fish out net from the pop/food scooper net.

Either then that, Its the usual fish behavior..Where they reconized you, follow you and only because they want food and could care less about you, Haha.

Yeah about that, the title of the thread wasn't "is your fish more caring than a 5th grader" So we are looking for intelligence here or just anecdotes about the interesting things our fish do.

My gold danio will let me hand feed him after only having him a few days. :)

It makes me laugh that all your fish can differentiate what you put in the tank. Mine just assume open hood = food, and I have to be careful not to get little fishies in the test tubes when testing the water. lol
