Is your fish smarter than a 5th grader?

My peacocks gudgeons are like dogs. As soon as I walk into the room, they come to the front and watch me. As soon as I open the lid on the tank, they come to the top for their food, and eat it directly out of the baster (while all other fish are afraid of the baster).

And they run like hell from the net. How they know the difference between the baster and the net is impressive to me. They are both large foreign objects in their habitat.

After spawning when I remove the eggs to the fry tank, the male will stay around the area where he was guarding the eggs before the hand of god came and removed them. After a day, he'll continue as normal and swim around happily and begin to court the female again.

I freakin' love these fish. :)

Here is a pic of my male:

this is soooo true... I have acctually thought about putting my fishes food in a net when I feed them... that way when i need to catch them for some reason-- they will just come to the net and there wont be any problems lol

Dolphins

my goby cichlid always come to the glass whenever i come up and expects food. whenever he sees that im not gonna feed him tho he gives up. he hasnt figured out the difference between the food bag and the video camera. im trying to record him and hes pacing the glass for food.

i ges you couldnt say that my knife was smart. but he was friendly, and he began to brush his nose on me while i did water changes

Once you catch him in the act you will have to post it on here!

I have 1 brochis, 2 ottos, 2 ADFs and 1 mystery snail.
I'd have to say the snail is the smartest 'fish' in my tank.
The others are all style - no substance.

(I love them anyway - I don't care if they aren't the smartest kids on the block)
