IT has BEGUN!!!

Looks good, I would do something different about the rockwork, but if you like it and fish have sufficient territories and caves then that's all that matters.

Good job on the ugj as well, I'm surprised you were able to find 1/2" fittings in HD, you can't find anything less than 4" around here, Lowes was the only place that stocked the smaller diameter.

When are the fish going in?

once I finish rock work and get the tank cycled. It should be ready to do by the weekend so within the next week or two.

I'm anxious too! I need to find some local breeders, since I AM NOT paying 20 bucks a fish for my selected species *shakes fist at LFS*

I called my not so local fish store. She owns the store and she will keep eyes out for my species. Last time she got them, about two months ago, she was able to get them for about 5-10 dollars a piece, and since I have been using her since i started the hobby 10 years ago, she'll sell them to me at cost :)

One problem solved, for now that is.

However if anyone knows of local breeders in Rhode Island, or near by CT and Mass. I would rather buy from them, so please let me know!!!

Thanks everyone!

I want to see the fishes! lol. It's like christmas. This build thread is great. You'll have happy cichlids! :D

I'm working on it! I got gravel in the tank last night, and I'm working on getting the slate attached, then wait 24 hours, and fill with water! Then move a sponge over from the 55 to the 75, and start cycling!

I have pictures, which i'll post later.

Sweet! Pics! ;) You wont be able to rearrange as easily if you have them all glued together... bit of a trade-off when it comes to rearranging or height ey? I'm battling that one myself. Thinking about glueing my rocks together as well. Not sure though...

I'm only gluing the ones that are loose. The base layer of slate is pretty stable, it's the upper layer that things get a little tricky. So i'll be able to re-arrage pretty well.
