IT has BEGUN!!!

ITs a heavy one for sure...took everything my father and I had to move it. Went down to Homedepot and bought 6 douglad fur 2x4's a sheet of 3/4" plywood to start building the stand. We have some ruff cut oak planking taken from our own yard, so we are going to use some of that in the stand as well.

Now it's onto the planning stage...need to figure out filtration.

Alright idea time!!

Filtration *cringe*

For this I plan on using two marineland Magum 350's for primary filtration possibly hooked up to a jet system

I'll move the quietone 2200 filter thingy over and either make a mechanical sponge filter with it, or use it as is with the home sediment filter.

THen i'll either pick up two AC 100 or the likes for surface agitation/bio filtration or use two powerheads powering bio-wheels for surface work.

THoughts...ideas...

Thanks!

Thanks!

I need to get the 55 back on it's feet, since this thread has started, all the plants have died/been removed, and replaced with fakes, to the rams dislike. So once my little demons are out of that tank, i'll rescape it.

Another note...

I was planning on making the tank flow from one side to the other...kinda like a lake would. WOuld this be a good idea or bad?

Hey rithunder, if your filtration plan is for the 55gal, an AC 110 and a good powerhead with sponge in the other side of the tank; may be enough IMO. As Pittbull would say: "you don't want to create a yakuzzi effect; aye".
