Where the wild things are
Started out innocent enough...wife came home with a pre-formed pond that she bought at a yard sale for five bucks. "Honey, would you mind diggin' a little hole for me?" Fast forward 5 years. Five ponds, a stream and waterfalls aren't enough. Apparently fish grow, but ponds don't.

Had to set up 600 gal. of aquariums as temp housing for koi, gold fish, plecos and cats while their new and bigger home is completed. Still have 200+ gal. more to set up and will probably end up with another 200 gal. on top by the time I'm done. Then I get to finish the 20,000 gal. new pond before spring...yeah right.

Anyway, a fellow that I bought some used tanks from recommended this site and it's been a great resource. Look forward to learnin' a lot along the way. :)

I started out with one half barrel "water garden" and now I have three preformed ponds in my yard. LOL

So...is this contagious or a genetic defect? My wife loves all living things, except her husband, and I'm too OCD to do any of her bidding in half measures. Together we are gasoline and a flame thrower.

WOWEE!! I can't wait to see pics of your process! Welcome to AC :)
I don't know that I'd call it a process, that implies some sort of prior thought and planning. This has been more of a reactive endeavor. All I can say at this point is, "thank god for the brick floor in my fish room, it's truly amazing how much water that thing can soak up".

If I can pry the digital out of my youngest daughter's clutches I'll start committing some of my atrocities to posterity.

Ummm it's both! Mostly it is an expensive contagion with no known cure and does not respond to antibiotics. ("Yes Dear" seems to be the best remedy).

haha welcome to AC.....you're going to fit right in :D

I know those words...usually accompanied by the mnemonic head nod and followed immediately by "you're absolutely right".

...and they said he couldn't be trained...Hah! I haven't slept in a drunken stupor through all 20 sumthin' years of marital bliss...
