I know you guys are probably thinking I am a mad hatter for saying this, but I am already looking for another tank. LOL! I have been combing the ads trying to find a 10 or 20 gallon for my bedroom and I am barely done cycling the 38g I have. Is that madness or what?

I think I found one (or two) that I may buy today. The seller is moving and has a 10 gallon with stand and a 20 gallon as well. Both come with tank, hood, light, heater, filters, gravel, decorations. Basically a just add water and fish situation. They are asking $20 for each setup. Is that a good deal for used? Someone let me know so I dont miss this deal. I want to get my son a small tank for his room as well and the 10 gallon would be perfect for a betta and some neons that I know he would adore...

Let the madness begin!

Sound like you got the bug!!! Since a 10 gal setup is about $50 bucks new, without gravel or decor, it should be a good deal. If you have a garage or a balcony(somewhere it wont get stollen), I would leave the tank filled with water outside and monitor for leaks before you set it up in your house. I would also rinse the old gravel thuroughly if you plan to use it, and get new filter media, since you never know what is lurking in that stuff.

Those do sound like good deals.....garage sales and thrift stores are also good sources...if you have a "Craigs List" in your area on the internet, you can find deals there too....

Staceyanna....welcome to the wacky world of fishkeeping! One is never enough and big is never big enough....

I think those are very good deals, assuming the tanks don't leak or anything  !! Plus, since you have a tank running, it will be much easier to start up the new tanks. Let their filters run on your set up tank for at least a couple of weeks (assuming all is well with it) and you're all set!! Good luck :)

WAHHHH!!! They got sold already! Seller said the tanks went FAST! Tool bad she was like 5 miles from me too! *sad*

YoFishBoy, the ad was on craiglist... I've been addicted to that site for years! But I am still on the lookout!

Don't feel too bad. I went for a deal like that. Sounded GREAT. Got a 29 gal + everything ... filter, light, hood, even fish. Complete setup, even got a cabinet with all the food, bubble divers, air pumps, everything ..... Including ICH!!!! If I added the initial cost ($75.00) to what I ended up spending to fix the problems that came with the tank I could have bought a brand new setup complete with stand. Sometimes trying to save a buck or two just ain't worth it.

I got my 30g then wanted to upgrade - saved loads and got a 100g & now i'm thinking well yeh it's big but not big enough for rays and arowanas! Congratulations on catching the bug your bank balance will never be the same again!

IME, you just start wanting bigger tanks, so maybe this was a sign  !!! I had a 35g and a 50g, then I started thinking, boy, a really big tank would be cool, then I could just combine these 2..... Now I have a 180g and it looks smaller and smaller everyday
