Okay! I got it!
How about a JD Pair and some rainbowfish for dithers?

Sorry, I love just hypothetically dreaming about fish... :)

Dither fish are used to coax scared fish or fish that hide. Dithers are used to get shy fish to come out. The basic theory is to ease the scared fish out of hiding by swimming around and showing it is ok to come out. You don't have the fish yet so you cant see if they are going to hide.

Generally JD's are out and about. If you want to put a school of rainbows in for the heck of it I don't see anything wrong with that. I would go with at least six rainbows. The pair of Jd's will be fine with the rainbows. I assume you are talking about non cichlid rainbow fish and not the ones I suggested.

I like the sounds of that. I am a fan of the Praecox or Bosemani Rainbowfish. I might keep looking around... I told my family one 75 gallon would be enough....

I would go with something a bit bigger. Maybe a couple or HRP's (Houndouran Red Points) or a couple of Herotilapia multispinosa (Rainbow cichlids)

I like these suggestions myself ;)
Or any of these would fit nicely in my opinion ;)

Cryptoheros:

Cutteri
Nanoluteus

Also:

Archocentrus Centrarchus

may go nicely and all of which including the suggestions from akapaul would add contrast in the tankt o draw more noticibly yoru EBJD ;) maybe not all at the same time.. but those are a few species I would look to point the Centerpiece ey in the direction of the EBJD's :)

New JD

Back in Jack, traded a Ob Peacock for this guy. Africans are awesome in color but CA/SA cichlids have so much more personality,Oh ya they get bigger too. Gotta clean him up and then try to breed some, thinking atleast a 90 gallon to start with a 55 to grow out some fry.

O's and JD's can work but not in a 75 gallon. IMO 75g should only have the Oscar. JD's are great fish! one of my JD's is my avatar pic. Ever since I found out about the EBJD's I've wanted them. If you can, get a pair and try and breed them. up here in the New England area they go for $25 for a 1.5-2". Just think if they spawn 100 eggs thats $2,500. heres a site dedicated to the EBJD http://www.ebjd.org/

I think my plan is to try and get an EBJD (male) and Regular JD (female) and if they pair, I will 99% consider breeding to sell. My LFS who has the EBJD told me his supplier is in California! Imagine his savings (and my benefit) if he bought them from me at even $10 each..... BTW he sells them for $45!!!!!
