Hi guys, I have a 10 gallon tank with a swordplant, java fern, rocks, driftwood, and JAVA MOSS!
I've had this moss for 5-6 months now, and it has only barely attached to the driftwood (i tried tying it on when i just introduced it... still didn't cover my driftwood, the way i intended it to)... and now the java moss is EVERYWHERE!!
It's not the problem that they grow fast, coz they are modestly growing in mine, it seems. The thing is, there's this huge clump sitting where I want it to be, and then theres all these kabillion mini pieces EVERYWHERE. So my tank is HIDEOUS now! Java moss bits all over the gravel, growing in between the swordplant, sucking the nutrients out of the dying java fern, lodged between my rocks... not only does it clog my gravel vacuum when I do water changes, it completely clogs my filter!! My filter has now slowed to a drip, and the head is completely clogged w/ java moss.... ugh. And I washed of the moss the head only a couple days ago, just to have it clog up again.
I came up with a "solution" (aint so much of one coz it didnt work) to net out all the bits.. And that was a week ago. A couple days later, new bits are all over the place again, and I netted them out... and now they're all over the place again. I don't think this is going to work
Anyone has any experience dealing w/ java moss they'd like to share? Or if anyone has a betta idea? I'm completely stumped and tired
TIA!
