Jay's Planted 45g Long Tank.

Great looking tank! One that you SHOULD show off and be proud of. And one for people like me to strive for. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very kind. (I'm one who preaches patience but have trouble practicing it with my own aquarium.)

Where did you get the A. reineckii from? I've been looking into getting some for my remodeling of a 10 gallon.

Petco and Petsmart have them (I picked mine up from Petco) unfortunately not all of them keep their plant selection the same or even restock frequently. In NJ the one Petsmart with the best plant selection is in Bridgewater that I've found so far and I've gone to 3 or 4 Petsmart. I must of caught the Petco just right on delivery because since then they've had the same dead baggies of plants for weeks it seems.

Do you have a list of red plants you've had success with? I've only started stocking my 180g so my experience so far since moving is the A. reineckii and L. glandulosa.

That is the only "real" red plant that I like.

Rotal Indica is another red plant that worked out OK for me, but did not really like the "thinner" leaves. If you do not mind "Pink", there is a very nice "Sunset Hygro" around, but it is only slightly pink (not reddish).

I did get my hands on Ludwigia repens rubin which was easy to keep red but I lost it during the move more so because I didn't have Co2 at the time I think. I think there's a pic of it in my 180g journal let me see if I can find it or I'll post it over there again.

Lol! Are those full grown? They're pretty cute. I like their colors too.

I have one that's larger than the 3 in the video. I'm not sure if there is a size difference between males and females but I think they max out around 2 inches. I got lucky got a yellow with stripe, (2) oranges with stipes, and a solid orange (no stripe)

Beautiful tank!! Those apistos are sweet too!! Any luck with the fry?

Nope no eggs in about a week and they are all behaving at the moment (just a lot of pushing), I've noticed right before they lay eggs the aggression goes up again.
