Ok, my jewel cichlids bred, and now I am unsure of whether to remove the fry, or leave them in there, everything i have read says to remove the fry, however, there is a difference in opinion as to when, and if I should remove all?..I am currently setting up a 20 long and a thirty on a joint stand, and am moving my convicts (pair)into the twenty long, and considering moving the fry into the thirty, I wasn't planning on them being a breeding pair, nor did i think i had a male and a female, the reading i have just done says to leave a few fry in otherwise, the pairs aggression towards each other could become fatal, so here in lies my questions:
1) would you put the fry in the twenty long, and the convicts in the thirty?
2) would you remove all fry, and parents, and return parents to the larger tank in a few days?(if so , would this cause to much aggression between parents)?
3)should i just let them go? (they are defending their territory quite well.)
4)would you remove most of the fry , and leave the rest?..
5)would you move the whole fam damily?(again, this posses the aggression problem?)
thanks for any replies that you may have!~ julz
