Hmmm....that is not what my live rock dealer is telling me. This rock is not "cured" at all. I wonder if his recommended water changes have something to do with it. Anytime the ammonia gets beyond 1.0ppm I'm to change out some water (equation of how much depends on level of ammonia). I think he is basing it off the idea that there shouldn't bee too much die off in the first place. Here are his directions: http://www.tbsaltwater.com/thepackage/setup.html

I guess I can do it his way and then just test, test, test the water and wait till it is constant and correct. go from there.

I'm in Boone, NC. Charlotte is about a 2 hour drive as is Greensboro and Asheville.
