Jurupari ?'s

I'm taking your advice, and have already begun working my magic on them. A pro of slacking off is that it's easy to impress my parents... My brother LOVES him, so I might be able to upgrade within a few months.

If not, I can bring him back and get something that will live in the 55. Any reccomendations on similar fish? (Doesn't eat plants, won't mess with harleyquin rasboras and plecos, larger than 3", looks similar to a jurupari)

while I figure out how to upload pics of him, here is pretty much an exact copy of him:

Btw you have S. leucosticta. They have jeweling on their face while S. jurupari have no spangles.

thats what I was thinking, these guys are closely related right? Mine has been minding his own business, and doesn't touch any of my plants. Any differences between these guy's care and Jurupari's care?

Care is the same for both fish. Sand bottom, clean water, and a diet that includes some veggies with a good pellet. I haven't kept these guys but earth eater care in general is pretty similar.

He's awesome looking UN!!!

Thanks, what pellets would you reccomend? I'm feeding him some generic stuff, (nothing fancy, can't rememeber the name) and bought NLS cichlid pellets and he ignores them. He eats the normal ones fine, but what else should I add in for variety? (Will he take frozen bloodworms?)

I feed Hikari Cichlid Gold (sinking version) as a staple and supplement with blood worms, shelled and chopped peas, and spirulina flake food. There are other kinds of pellets you can use but these are the ones available to me.

S. jurupari and leucosticta are different species but they are pretty similar fish
