Although more horizontal space is great, 18" is not an appropriate width for full grown balas either.

the foot print (sq foot area)is determined by length and width.

so the 60" tank may not have a larger footprint.

more water is usually a good thing.

looks like the 150 has a slightly larger foot print.
120g =1080 sq in

150 g=1152 sq. in

DOH! He's really right!

(that's what I get for assuming 2' width on both)

I would go with the 150 then. Athough I'm not a huge fan of deeper tanks, I really like the added width.
