Just picked up a Three-Spined Toadfish

Batrachomoeus trispinosus... LFS had him, of course they insist he is FW.. Anyway, I know better, but I have not been able to determan what salinity his tank should be kept at. My other BW tank is at 1.008, while I'm not putting him in there would this salinity work or should it be stronger? I'll post pics when he gets settled in.

BTW.. he was eating within 2 hours of being introduced to the new tank :D
 
Yea.. he's a pig.. I think he ate my upside down cat that has been in that tank for almost 3 years.. I figured the cat was too big for him as the cat was 1.5-2" and really fat, the toadfish is only ~4.5-5". Plus he had 5 guppies which he ate all of those as well. When I get home I'm going to rearrange the tank to see if I can find the cat then I'll move him, I had just forgotten he was in there since I rarely see him but I checked his usual hideout once I remembered and didn't see him.

I'll post pics of him tonight. He finally figured out his PVC pipe serves as a cave so now he will not leave it when the lights are on, might have to take it out to get some decent pics..
 
I think I'm going to need to start him on some rosies instead of guppies because appearantly the guppies aren't cutting it for him, he's eating at least 5 guppies a night. I'll pick some up at the store tonight and start quarantining them. I'll post some pics of him tonight for ya. Cute little guy.

Well it turns out it's a grunting toadfish instead of a three-spine toadfish. The benefit of posting actual pics on the web.
 
What a face! Beautiful eyes too! What SG is he in?
