I have a spawning pair of kribs with their first batch of fry to survive. They stay next to their parents and there are loads of them. They are in a planted tank. My question is when should I remove the fry from the parents? There only tankmates are a pair of spawning angelfish which have wigglers at the moments as well. I want to redecorate this tank but there is never a time when there are not eggs somewhere in this tank it seems. If I replace some of the plants in this tank with either fishes babies will that cause them to stop laying eggs. The krib female is really fat and she seems ready to breed again. Have they been known to breed again so fast after spawning. The female has started to chase and bite at the side of the male krib. He is not hurt and stays right with the female. I have even seen them lip locking at times. Is this normal breeding habits of the kribs as they are chiclids. Thanks

your female krib is trying to raise the kribs herself and will chase your male, but he will stay and try to protect the fry. If you separate the fry they will fight for a few days but will go back to spawning. How big is your tank? It's good that you have angels and kribs spawning so you must a decent size tank.

Redecorating or adding fish sometimes will stop the spawning process, in my experience any how

The tank is a 20 gallon tall. Started out being a holding tank but once eggs started appearing I never moved anything.

wow I'm really surprised the kribs and angels aren't fighting. It would seem tight in a 20tall. I would move the fry out, kribs will move the fry around the tank and it will cause trouble in the long run

Thanks nguyendetecting. They have little spats. None of the fish have scales missing, torn fins, or anything like that. They flare but that's it. They stay at opposite sides of the tank. I have been wanting to rescape with different plants but didn't want to mess up either pair.
