Haven't posted in a while, and unfortunately it's going to be "hello" and "goodbye" as I must get out of the hobby. I'm moving to Los Angeles and will not be able to transport my fish or house them at the new place. So I am sadly looking for new homes for the following:

  • 3 L204 Flash Plecos (adult, unsexed but most likely all male)
  • approx. 2 dozen Endlers, white peacock pattern (various ages, male and female)
  • 1 lonely oto (adult, unsexed) - My sole surviving oto from the *last* move. This one seems to be remarkably hardy.

I am not looking for any payment or trade; I just want to find good homes for them. They need not all go to the same person. The plecos have been cohabiting in a 55 gallon, but would be happier separated or in a bigger tank. They have been eating a homemade agar-based gel food and I can provide a good quantity of the dry mix to go with them. I'm afraid I have not been very diligent with water changes, but all fish seem healthy in spite of my neglect. Still, quarantine is always a good idea.

Pickup is preferred, but I could meet you within about an hour's drive if necessary.

Many thanks,
Megan

Sorry to hear your getting out, but good luck on L.A.! And those L204's are neat looking.

dibs on the endlers if you do decide to ship. Even I have done it, and everybody survived as far as I was informed, so it is proven possible even for dummies. :)

and anything you can't get rid of I would try a small (non-chain) LFS. They are usually good about that, although if the plecos are very large they might shy away for lack of customers with facilities big enough to house them.

Darn on the shipping... I would love those flash plecs ;) If you get to the point that you want to ship, please feel free to PM me with any questions on how. I have shipped thousands of fish and inverts with literally 3 DOA's, all carrier error. It seems daunting but is actually very easy, once you work up the guts to do it ;) I could even send you some shipping bags by parcel post.

If your L204s are adult males at least the dominant one should be very obvious, they get very hairy on their tail.

If you a potential breeding group, I hope someone is willing to pick them up. They don't really need a huge tank - something like a 55 or 40 breeder should be fine.

The dominant male pleco *is* obvious. I call him Victor and he's a total jerk about pushing the other two around at feeding time. I have squinted and stared at the other two, trying to convince myself that one is female, but I can't do it. Everything I've read says that female L204s are extremely hard to find for some reason. I bought these as an unsexed group and have seen no evidence that any of them is female, so I'm assuming they are all male.

Are they still available? I have a 125 gal setup and would love to take them on! I'm also in Ohio...and could meet you about halfway if they are still available...
