largest cichlid

ive read it before but i cant remember its name. im pretty sure it was in lake tanganyika. can anyone help me out here. how big does it get???

Emperor Cichlid Boulengerochromis microlepis as big as your arm really like 36" and you will need about a 500gal tank..

i thought i read that there was one that got bigger than that.....ill do a google search and see if i can find what i read.

i thought it was in my book but i guess not. i thought i had read one gets 10ft. i cant seem to find it now. i wish i could remember where i saw it at.

There may be a fish that gets bigger but probably not a cichlid..

Yea the largest of the cichlid species is the emperor, maybe you're thinking of an arapaima which isn't a cichlid
