I am speculating a little but maybe the string is used to tie down plants like Java Fern.

Has anyone ruled it out as a hitching post for giant gouramis?

Or maybe it's like the Continuum Transfunctioner ... a mysterious and powerful device whose mystery is exceeded only by its power.

Wait ... we're posting about a thread ... in a thread ... whoa ... :joe:

That's it, time to invade Canada.

OH...For PETE"S sake !!

I've been ignoring this thread because I thought it was just another lfs bashing binge thread...(so tired of those!!)....lol.....

I have been TOTALLY missing out ! LOL !

Roan...do you have anymore of those bricks on a stick ?? I'll take 21....one for each tank. Do they come in various sizes ? Because I think a large would be too big for the betta tank...it's only 2 gallons. I'm afraid that betta may take a leap and I'll find him hanging from the side of the tank on his string.....all dried and shriveled.

Maybe we should get some fishy insurance to go along with these things....you just never know the dangers on new products like these...until they've been tried out on some unsuspecting imbacils....er..um....folks !

I love this idea so much...I went out and bought my gulls some...they've been very inventive....they use them to lure fish to the surface. They've found that the fish cannot resist the allure of purple string.

Keep this fact in mind when pondering the possible uses for this wonderful product !!

They do find it a tad hard to fly with these things though....do the rocks come in smaller sizes ? I lost one of the gulls to an accidental rock on string overdose....he tried carrying two at once....figured he'd double his chances with the fish. The other's, having witnessed this sad example of overendulgance....have asked about the insurance question. Any answers there yet ?

Ok, I'm done with this post. My wife just informed me what the "rock with string" is for. She said it was a female fish feminine hygiene product. I don't want to know what the "brick with a stick" is for. Have a good day all, I'm going to go hide under the bed for a while.
