One last question. Im thinking maybe doing a 29 gallon tank just for a little extra room tank is 30 x 12 1/1 x 17 so instead of 12 inches high its 17. Do you think this light would still be sufficient with the extra 5 inches?

yes, it should be fine mate...depending on what you have, you may just have to put it a higher level in the tank...which, again, aint a problem...

i had 2x 65w on my old 29 gallon tank and i was able to keep most the corals i have now. after getting halides ill never switch back but the light u picked out should work great for u. post some pics later on when its up and going
