Apparently my betta was just trying to get out of going to school yesterday.
Last night I came home determined to add salt to the water and jack the temps way up to help him out with what I perceived to be clamped fins due to the stress of a parasite.
When I looked in on him, however, he was fine! he was swimming around as usual, ate like a pig, didn't have any clamped fins, and seemed normal. He still has the stuff on his face so I think I'm going to get some bettafix at lunch and start a treatment with that. If it doesn't go away though I'll just let it be.
Thanks to all those who responded to my thread yesterday!
