Log of using Dr. Tim's One and Only Nitrifying Bacteria

Could of had "something" in it, who knows what but it could have affected your tests when it comes to such a small amount of water.

I don't think I have an airstone, but would it work to just run airline tubing into the water while it is connected to the little air pump? If so, then I'll aerate some new tap water overnight tonight and retest.

I'm just using some airline tubing and the air pump to aerate the water and I'll test it tomorrow when I get home from work. I'm curious to see if the results will be any different.

FEB 25 930PM

- Water Test
Ammo = 0ppm
NitrIte = 0ppm
NitrAte = 5-10ppm

Everyone is still doing great. They greedily ate up the Hikari Micro Wafers I fed them today. They are very active, no signs of disease and overall everything seems to be stable and in good shape.

I'll be re-testing my tap water tomorrow once it has aerated for 24 hours.

Again if anyone has any input or questions, feel free to post!

- Water Test on aerated tap water
This time I aerated without the mini filter attached. I treated with prime and then just ran an air pump connected to some airline tubing for 24 hours. I only tested the NitrAtes this time as they were the cause of confusion the first time. I tested them twice just to be on the safe side.

1st
NitrAtes = 0ppm

2nd
NitrAtes = 0ppm

This indicates that there obviously was "something" in that mini filter, despite the fact that it had sat dry for well over a year. It's interesting.

But this does show that the cycle in my tank seems to be working. The tank seems to be established and stable, despite it only being up for about a week. I must say I'm quite impressed with Dr. Tim, however I will still be performing daily water tests for another week or so at least.

I am planning on adding a small school of cories on saturday and will drip acclimate.

Tank water test results will be posted later today.

FEB 26 1000PM

-Water Test
Ammo = 0ppm (again it looked like it had the slightest tinge of green, but I did add a bit of Prime just in case until I can do a proper water change tomorrow night)
NitrIte = 0ppm
NitrAte = 10ppm

I added some more fake plants in preparation for other fish that will eventually be added that like secure hiding places. All fish look healthy, eat greedily, very active most of the time, no signs of disease. So far, everything is looking good.

Thought I'd post a pic for those who are interested.

FEB 27 11PM

- Water Test
Ammo = 0ppm
NitrIte = 0ppm
NitrAte = 10ppm

I did a 40% water change after the test. All fish look healthy and happy this morning with no signs of disease. Will be going to get some cories later today.
