Cool 'howdy' graphic, Mark.
Still very hot....finished the concreting and finally got the shade sails up yesterday.
Now I'm after solar fans for the ceilings and roof, and I'm going to try to make a solar space heater for Winter. If I can heat the kitchen, I'll expand on it to warm the living area.
Tried some 'Bardi' grubs (from the Aboriginal name, 'Vardju'?) on the murray cod recently. They're the larvae of large moths (Trictena and Abantiades sp.). The grubs are about the size of my first finger, but they're oily and foul the water which is a shame, because they're high protein and good fats and the cod love 'em. Also, though, I think they have intestinal parasitic worms. I get my new microscope soon, so will be able to check them out more closely.
