Hi,
I’m having Ick problems in a 38 gal community tank . I’ve tried various cures in the past but even with water changes, (30% 2X/mo), it still keeps coming back. I now have two kinds of shrimp in the tank so copper-based treatments are not an option. I also have tetras and a large weather loach. I tried salt and raising the temperature to 87/89 F and that seemed to work after two weeks. One week after dropping down to 76 F I see Ick signs again. Is there anything I can try in this heavily planted tank that will eradicate ICK without harming the shrimp that are happily breeding away? Incidentally, since I raised the temp and added the salt the water is crystal clear. Before the change it was always slightly cloudy.
Denis
