The ferret is adorable cam.I was looking at some last week, and some chinchilla's to at the lfs.I really want one but I don't know how my dogs would react to them.

my dachsand always chases squirrles, but hes never tried to hurt the ferret. he treats it like another dog, i guess cus it kinda is like one. a chinchilla would be more like dog bait

Thats what I was thinking. But both of my dogs go nuts when they see a cat so I am afraid to try the ferret.I had a Guinea pig and just loved it but that was before these dogs came along.

my dogs only about twice the size of the feret, so i couldent give you advice for big dogs

How often and how long do you let your ferret out of his cage?

all day, every day. but i have a big screened in lanai. he sleeps a lot of the time. they dont have to be out nearly that long, i just have the luxury of not having to worry about him. if you have a fish room, or other room that can be his little playground, it would be perfect
