look at this tank i dream about this

Do you like the picture of the scuba diver in the tank? Obviously doctored, and there are zero shadows to be seen. Plus the fact that a 4000 gallon tank would occupy a lot more wall space than that!

That sites been around for quite some time. I think some of the photos have been touched up but I don't think they look not real. As for size, a 4000g tank would only need to be 97.5" x 97.5" x 97.5" , or just over 8 feet cubed. As for shadows, the lights are above the diver and you can't see the bottom of the tank, where were you expecting there to be shadows?

Shadows over the rock work? Yes. Look at the position of the diver. There should be some shadows caused by him over the live rock. Also, take a look at the dimensions of the tank with the guy standing in front of it. You stated that the tank would need to be eight feet cubed. The tank sure as heck isn't eight feet tall. Assuming the man is six feet, that tank is four feet tall at most. It looks to be roughly six or seven feet wide, which would require it to be almost twenty-one feet deep (within the wall might I add) to achieve 4000 gallons.

I'm not trying to flame your post, it just looks ludicrous to claim that tank is 4000 gallons.

Edit: Looking again at the picture, it is possible that the tank is covered in parts by the masonry, but why would someone go through the trouble and expense of a 4000 gallon tank, only to make the majority of it unviewable?

In the mans tank measurements (under Q&A) if you work it out he is 400 gallons off. That seems to be a lot. Also considering it is the same man beside the tank as it is inside the tank he sure has gotten a lot smaller. And is 400 lbs of live sand enough to give a 2 inch DSB in a tank 12 X 7?

the story i have from predatory fish is - yes the tank was real but the humidity in the basement warped the floor joists above it and he had to take it down or risk losing the rest of the house.
