look at this tank i dream about this

the story i have from predatory fish is - yes the tank was real but the humidity in the basement warped the floor joists above it and he had to take it down or risk losing the rest of the house.

LOL so i started all that eh?

The tank was real. It just wasent 4000 gallons. And it only existed for about two years. The tank has since been torn down and no longer exists.

For as much as I would love a 4000 gallon tank, I dunno about having to hop in to clean the glass. I think the wetsuit was a bit much. 80 degree water will cool you down but you definantly should have time to do regular maintenance. I guess I'd be more worried about inadvertantly knocking something over. Maybe just some base rock and two dozen spadefish. That'd be cool.

He would have overheated in about 10 minutes in 80 degree water with a wetsuit on. If I am diving in water that warm the only thing to wear is a lycra suit so you don't get stung by critters. Heck I start to overheat in my 7mm suit after diving in 65 degree water.

Let me see if I understand this correctly, Slip and brianH, you guys are saying that those shots of the scuba guy are legit? I still don't buy it. How many gallons was it really?

TKOS

If you are from canada, I would imagine that 65 deg. water is a hot bath to you...... lol

If the water is not above about 78 for me, I loose my berries.

I go dry in anything below 60

I gotta say I sweat better than I shake

yea, those are legit, you cant see any shadows because the lights are directly above him, and the bottom of the tank is about 2 ft down below the glass.

Id say the approximate size of the tank is 2000-2500 gallons.

Well, sometimes you have to eat crow. I still have trouble believing that tank was for real, but I'll take your words for it. The tank having had to be broken down after a couple of years is very credible. I can see the evaporation out of a 2000 gallon tank becoming a real problem. I wonder what he did with all of that live rock?
