Hi, friends!
One of my multies got really inflated in just a matter of 10 to 12 hours. It was looking good in the morning and at night it was looking as you can see it on the pic! It seems to be dropsy IMO, but... why it developed so fast? It sounds as something really weird to me.
I have metronidazole but I don't know if I should use it in the main tank, in a separated one or not use it at all. Please, look on the pic the fish at the left side and tell me what do you think it is and what would you do being in my place. Thanks as always!

Before I tried Metro, I'd try one tablespoon of Epsom Salt per ten gallons. Add enough to "treat" half the tank's volume today, and half tomorrow. It reduces swelling and relieves constipation. I share this with anyone that has a bloated fish, and many of the folks I've told about it have reported recovery within two days or so. If it doesn't work within three (from the day the entire volume was treated), then it's time to move onto something else -- possibly Metro, as you suggest. But this is a good way to reduce swelling/aid constipation in a fish that doesn't necessarily have a bacterial infection.

If your talking about the thin one than its either that the others are not allowing it to eat or some type of internal parasite.. I wouldn't medicate unless they were all showing signs remove fish to a small tank and treat if necessary..

The OP is not referring to the thin one... he/she mentions "inflation!" Obviously, he/she is referring to the bloated fish!

The update is this: Thinking that it may not hurt the other multies, I treated last night the whole 20gal long tank with 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt; doing a water change prior to the treatment. Right now, maybe there is a little improvement on the bloating of the fish, but it's hard to tell. Even so, the fish is swimming and behaving normally. I will put them to fast today and see tomorrow how that fish is.

Sorry to hear that efors, hopefully it'll go away, I've had some weird experience with my brevis, I'm down to 2 from 6 or 7, some just died, other got bloated (possibly dropsey) and died, right now I believe one is a female, who's in a great shape, one is a male, who's while still seems to be fine, spends most of his time just sitting on the bottom (maybe a swim bladder issue, I'm not too sure), still swims up whenever I feed them, but definitely has a hard time staying afloat, idk I've had the worst luck with tangs so far.
