Mafia 2014 #1-- FF1 Simple--The Play

So Rb said it had 1400+ posts (a rather specific number), was an earlier game (how early?), and simple. I'm wondering if he's referring to Mafia #4?

That would be fun...was my very first game I think. I had just as much of an idea of what was going on at the time as I did all of this game...

I think you're right. #4 fits the bill for the timing, number of players/roles, and total posts. It looks fun too.

If we really want to drum up some new players I could do a one-time invite through my work's social network. There's a lot of hobby and personal interest stuff there. I would just have to explain what mafia is and how to play.... it would help promote the site overall too for anyone interested in fishkeeping.

The only thing is what if we get 20-30 noobs showing up with an interest? Someone would have to explain this to them. And we'd have a game full of players no one knows who are just learning it themselves. Plus, I doubt newcomers to the site would be willing to read an old game just to play.

So, who would be against me hosting the next game in like 3 weeks? I've always been a better host than a player I think... except for a few, ahem, screwups... ANYWAY! what about it? Or is someone else already in line?

I believe Rb already is working up the next one. See his previous post.

As long as it isn't way lopsided in terms of new players vs. experienced players, I don't see anything wrong with it. We need to get some interest drummed up if mafia's going to become a more regular thing again. Doesn't hurt to start by recruiting some fresh meat...

Seems like not a lot of the "regular" people even venture onto AC anymore, let alone in GCC. I don't really know who's all that active on the site at the moment, but I'm pretty sure the reason I decided to sign up was because I was active enough in the forums and saw names I recognized on the sign up. I know it would be kosher to spam the site, but there's got to be an easier way to get AC members to sign up.

I sent pm's to everyone that I could think of from when I started playing but didn't get any replies. So I don't know if they still come here or not.

If anyone knows any of the vets on facebook we might get them to come back that way.

Game's over, Papp. You can edit your posts now. <giggles>

Don't believe her JP, she is scum trying to get you mod killed.

I'm setting up a small game on a different forum to see how it goes - if they do well (aka, better than me) I'll try to lure some of them onto the fishy forums. That said, only like 7 people signed up so I probably won't get that many new additions for AC.

I like the idea of taking some time between games. There was a stretch there were it was game after game with only a week between game end and the next sign up. I think that contributed to the burnout a lot of people felt.
