Mafia #27: Survivor ACville Island

Personally I think the question was just an off the wall question. At this point in the game, that's a reasonable request. Just because. Gut feelings. Why not.

Seriously, no I wouldn't think Ice is on the Lazuli team anymore than I would believe Fungi would be on the emerald team. Yes I knew what lapis lazuli is but I'm not going to sit here and defend my intelligence just because a bunch of guys were ignorant of a bunch of jewelry. Or heck, they could be. At this point of the game and the number of innocents we have playing against evils, I am almost positive they are.

I was being silly because it was the beginning of the game and nothing was substantially posted until someone's observation of me actually knowing what lazuli was.

Since JL posted about Fungi not wanting to investigate, I figured "game on" because he did pose a strong point. Obviously the question was posed on page two. Any reason we give will be pulled straight out of our... well, ya know? Why not? Laziness or a fear of saying the wrong thing and being pounced on? I'm not buying this, there wasn't enough to investigate. We all KNEW there wasn't enough, everybody saw the same thing. And I'm going to assume everybody would recognize any of the "pretend investigation" posing we were doing was all flippant and nobody was actually investigating anybody.


And Ice, I still didn't explain the "first one" bit. In being silly, I was referring to your quite well done analysis of my playing from #26.

Well fungi I took this as you and Ice were the people not discussing so I see it as grace putting you and Ice on a possible team together. That last paragraph still makes no sense to me...care to explain what you meant by them "splitting up" already?

I have JL and Grace high on my list

So Grace...you arent buying Fungis excuse for not putting up who he would investigate but you say that basically saying who you would investigate is silly because there isnt enough to investigate anyways? Kind of contradictory dont ya think?
 
Not really. Fungi and Ice refused to participate in the group question. They didn't have anyone they wanted to post because they said there's not enough evidence to lean in any one direction.

We all knew there wasn't enough evidence to investigate anybody until this discussion started. Page two? It was just a bunch of howdies essentially. There wasn't any reason to not participate. To me it was the equivalent of "Welcome, tell the group a little about yourself" and saying "no I won't, it's my first day".

But you said yourself that everyone KNOWS that there wasnt enough to go on. So when someone actually says that that is why they arent choosing to give out who they would investigate then they are suspicious? The "why not" thing is a dumb reason personally. Why not just give us the names of the rest of your team Grace?

I think along with the others that you and JL are on a team. You want to see who will be investigated and hope to hit them with a coconut thereby making all the investigations a waste.

I wouldn't put it pass you guys to have Fungi on your team and trying to put us together so when he shows as one of the named teams the others will want me gone also.Would explain Fungis slight protection of Grace. But I'm not sold yet on it but it was a thought that I felt should be put out there. I'm almost willingly enough,since we now have the ability to switch once, to vote Fungi and see how fast JL moves.

But since I'm not sure of Fungi.

Ice, why not vote for Fungi? I can assure you that my vote will not be changing. I have an idea.

I retract my vote for Fungi and vote to banish Fungi from the island.

So there I have used my switch.

As far as trying to banish a teamate on day one, I just do not see it happening, while it would be a great move, I do not think many are willing to take that risk. Good job of putting it out there, are you on Fungi's team?

So here it sits, I am calling Fungi out. I feel only Fungi's teamates would protect them.
 
I'm sorry jpappy, I don't see where I'm being contradictory here. (I really don't)

There wasn't enough evidence.
We were all winging it.
And two people failed to participate in a discussion the rest of us were having.

Come on, if I can come up with lazuli is blue and ice is blue... so I investigate Ice.... they can come up with the standard. "I'd investigate whoever because he's always evil"

I don't expect the reason to be valid at this point, or even serious. Silly counts. RB made a similar silly post.

The whole point I'm trying to make is that there wasn't participation that johnlarson requested. He observed Fungi made a pass. I said the same about Ice. All of it was still JUST an observation. Not a firm commitment anyway. If it were I'd immediately jump on the Fungi train or start my own with Ice.

Either way, I'm not convinced either of those players are evil. Just questionable for their reluctance to "play along".
 
Ya know JL... It makes me wonder, it really does.... Why would you post a question to get everybody hot and bothered. Are you drawing light from yourself?

I'm under the spotlight for discussing your question and people's response. But nobody is asking why you even suggested investigations the first night.

Just to clarify, where did Fungi protect me? I missed that one.
 
As far as using the investigations, in past games, I do not think most people that have had the chance to use it just once waited to use it.

I also think that most of the investigations have been used based on a players personality and not their current game play. Most investigations have to do with the player not the game.

Knowing who would investigate who and why does not help the mafia. Why would they hit someone based on that? The mafia will hit for three reasons, to create confusion, frame someone or to remove a threat.

I think it was a valid question and was also curious to see what players might fly under the radar and not get inspected at all.
