Hmmm... no one jumping on Driver for discussing mafia tactics. I agree with the statement that they won't be obvious.

I would remind everyone that only 3 of the mafia know each other. The Big City Don knows the others, but they cannot communicate with him or vice versa.



You know, I don't think it's ever been the case that a skimming player was mafia. However, it's a great tactic for the mafia to latch onto.



Why? or is it just 'gut' feeling. That's OK, I'm just curious.



Anytime you get two or more votes, it could be considered a train, expecially when there's no stated reason for the second vote... i.e. just following along. Trains are generally bad for us townies.

People really need to state reasons, the more the better for each vote, even a first day vote.

My current top two choices for voting would be Tiburon and Nemesis. I most emphatically do not like how tiburon has arrived at several of their statements and choices. That being said, I agree that Nemesis has twigged my mafia sensor with several remarks and exchanges. It's not something that I can really point do, but it's more about the whole thing.

I think it would be beneficial if everyone would state who they would vote for if the vote were due in a few minutes after they read this post and why they would vote that way.

Like I said, I think I would vote Tiburon, because of the things they have said and because it would also give me more of a clue on Nemesis.

Both these posts just scream at me. first post they are being overly helpful but the kicker is asking for a list on day 1. they name nemesis in this post. If both are mafia it would explain why knowing what tiburon is would help old3toes decide what Nemesis is. I'll bet if tiburon comes back innocent old3toes will say nemesis is innocent.

These comments bother me for some reason. Is it backpedalling? Kind of an "Oops, I goofed and better try to stop the attention on me" thing or an honest, "I goofed" thing?

When i first read this post i thought maybe i was wrong about old3toes but coupled with the first post it reads diffrent. it more like a train of thought starting post. why not just ask them outright and get a response from the person.

Old3toes i ask of you. why a list on day 1 and what is nemesis if tiburon is innocent/evil? then i would like to know why if you are sure hi iq is evil why did you put in your post"or an honest, "I goofed" thing.

RE: Your comment in light blue. Umm.. that's kind of what I said. I said that Tib gives me bad vibes, but so does Nemesis. Strangely, Tib also has Nemesis listed as a top evil choice. So, therefore, voting Tib would give me some good information on Nemesis. If Tib is evil, then Nemesis is probably innocent. If Tib is innocent, then Nemesis MAY be evil. Either way, I have more information than when I started. I don't know where you got the claiming both are innocent. In conclusion, I bet that I won't.

I posted a curiosity and my thoughts about it. I didn't ask the question because it doesn't matter. I wouldn't trust the answer either way. SO, why don't you want me thinking and posting my thoughts?

RE: the comments in green. I asked for a list to see what everyone else is thinking. It's a way of seeing what's going on and maybe drawing out a few players that aren't involved. You'll notice that only about 4 people even commented on it, so it's kind of useless at this point. regarding nemesis, I hope that I have answered that question above. I didn't realize that the thoughts weren't obvious. Of course, when I said something obvious, you jumped on that too...

I believe the comment was " Hi IQ is reading as not so much and starting to concern me a little" (post #122). the "or an honest goof comment" is to stimulate thought. It was a general question to everyone, those who care. To say, is what happened an honest mistake (they do happen) or is it a case of the mafia pushing too hard and then trying to get out of it?

Final thoughts (there are several)
1) Why not ask for a list with current thoughts? This is something that routinely does NOT happen and it should. Every townie should post a running list and their thoughts, even if it's just "hey, I think this guy is evil)". Once a day or so.

2) Why did you totally misquote me? You said something that wasn't even close to accurate regarding my comment on HI IQ. Why would you do that? You know the penalty for misquoting is almost automatic assumption of mafianess, so why do it? Am I too close to the team?

3)Twice you ask me about nemesis, when I've already stated that I think that player is one to be careful of. Why, did you not get it the first time? Yet, you say that nemesis is one that you are concerned about as well (I believe you said 'irks me'). So, you agree with me, yet you jump on me with both feet about a couple of things that you obviously didn't understand.

Conclusion: Maelstrom is now my most likely to get my vote for today. You have really pushed hard to discredit and distract the others from what I've been saying. So, have I hit the team? Is it nemesis, tib, and maelstrom?


Fellow townies, we need to come to some sort of agreement here. I have eight votes on six different players. We really need to pick two (or three at the most) and pile on them. That's gives us the best chance of identifying mafia. Remember they want us totally divided and unable to defend against vote switches and the like.

I vote to lynch Maelstrom. BTW: It is not a OMGUS vote, but purely on the post.

I went over the posts to see who had been conversing with HI IQ and in post 124 he had asked Driver8 where he played the noob card and G was posting to answer him but not as Driver8, but her usual sign on. Now this doesn't mean much except that Driver8 had been trying her best to make others think I could be G. I can't think of a reason G, aka Driver8, would want to do that except to draw negative attention my way knowing pple suspect G to be Mafia, albeit in disguise. Would a townie do that to a fellow townie? I think not, therefore

I vote to lynch Driver8.

Subject to change only if a better candidate comes to light.

I will agree with the fact that it does look that way posted, I know a game a while back someone posted a "edited" post and I couldn't figure out what one part meant, and that is exactly what it ended up being...what they had written under their SN.

Yep, you were evil that game, too, G. Ice, HN, Blue, and plant were the communicating innocents and you refused to see Ice's post he caught Brains making.

It has just come to my attention that the site administrator wasn't overjoyed upon learning that special screen names were created for the sole purpose of being used in the Mafia games. Graciously, they've allowed the game to continue, but changes are currently being made to the names in order to keep them separate from the general population. It is my understanding that the new names will look like:

Next time you log on, you will need to change your login name accordingly.

I don't have all the details yet, as things are still being worked out. But once they're available, they'll be posted.

Also, it is very important that people remember NOT to post in other threads on the site using your alternate IDs.

LOL any way you want to slice it thats an OMGUS vote. Saying it isn't doesn't make it not so.

I have no problems with anyone posting thoughts but the way they are and when they are posted is what gives me concern.
Its only the first day barely 24 hours in and you want a list? anyones list this early will have serious flaws.unless someone majorly makes a mistake and gives them self away. from these lists the mafia can and will use them as ammo against not only the innocent that looks the worst but also the innocents that have someone they aren't real sure about and flip flop a little or even if that innocent thought a mafia was innocent and its turned against them as protecting.
Lists are great, but usually they aren't even close until after you see a couple of voting nights/lynches and hits to find a commonality.


Then you want us all to pile on 3 players? Again to early for anything like this, even if we're lucky enough to have one of the three mafia it doesn't mean they will be the one to go. with 17 players and 4 total mafia they could all sit on there own players and let us lynch the 2 innocents.

I admit I mixed you and old3toes about hi iq. You both feel connected to me and i must have read that post with you in my mind.

Now the tiburon and nemesis is intresting. If Tib is evil, then Nemesis is probably innocent. If Tib is innocent, then Nemesis MAY be evil. Thanks for clearing up the obvious. so basically nemesis might be evil or innocent.
