The other problem I have with assigned investigations is the medic doesn't get one. Now the medic is dangling in the wind trying to guess his assigned person's status. If the medic guessess wrongly and names a snitch as innocent he is outed and the snitches will have their next beatdown.

Only snitches are given up...no innocents.
 
Okay well the Medic still has to guess and if a snitch is not identified then it's a simple matter of looking through the list to see who didn't identify him/her. Then the snitch can conclude since X was suppose to investigate me but hasn't said I'm a snitch then X must not have an investigation.
 
Well I guess the solution to that would be for everyone who finds an innocent to post that they forgot to run their investigation. At least that would give the medic someplace to blend in.

Good point.

I see too many holes in this plan personally. Some people can go ahead with it but there doesn't seem to be a reasonable plan for using the innocents' investigations.

in that case the only thing gained is information. the medic has to guess either way, so if the plan is used or not nothing will change for them.


Comment for bold Or they think you're innocent, since only snitches will be outed. in this case nothing will change, before the alliance you have a chance of being innocent/snitch and after the alliance you have a chance to be......innocent/snitch.
 
BKW one of is missing something, let's say X is the medic and we assign her to investigate Y who is a snitch. If X does not identify Y as a snitch (and without an investigation X just can't know this) than Y knows that X has not investigated him and concludes form this that X is the medic. The beatdown follows and we lose the medic.

But that's really only the case if everyone joins in. They could also conclude that player X (medic in this situation) did not investigate them or just simply didn't use it.
