I'm not excluding anyone...I just like you the best. As far as several people considering arguments and not being convinced, there's at least several scum playing the game, and if I'm right about you being scum, I'd expect at least several non-believers.
So in other words... anyone who believes me HAS TO BE on the mucs side and anyone you can convince to believe your accusations against me HAS TO BE pro-town. ....Just because you say so.
That is freaking ridiculous.
I'll admit that there's no guarantee you received a PM, although there might be a higher likelihood of it based on when you posted.
Please explain this statement, Mad. I don't see any basis for this at all. There is nothing that indicates one way or another whether I got a PM or that even expected to get one after JL created this game thread.
"..although there might be a higher likelihood of it based on when you posted..."
There
might be...? A
likelihood...? Gee, Mad.. could you make that any more vague?
The posts and the timing and everything else is laid out for everyone to see on Page 1. I've gone over that timing twice now. You tell me. How on earth is there possibly a higher likelihood that I
received a PM based on when I posted?
It took 2 whole minutes for JL to put together a player list and get that posted. Even if I was at the very top of JL's list and I was the one who got the very first PM he sent out... how do you think all of this happened within the next 3 minutes:
1. JL clicks over to his private message page.
2. JL types out a PM and addresses it to me to say I've got some power role in the game.
3. JL clicks the send button and the message is sent.
4. That PM arrives in my private message inbox.
5. I'm not looking for a message, but somehow I miraculously notice it's there the very instant it arrives.
6. I click over to my private message page to open my new message.
7. I read over whatever the message says about my role in the game.
8. Then, instead of doing anything else... I immediately navigate back to this thread.
9. Then I hurry up and post a pointless message for no other reason than to say --> "woo hoo."
All that within no more than 3 minutes??? You can't be serious. LMAO.
Just speculating about TRS's hidden motives? Please. You were all over the kid calling him scum...you weren't defending yourself against him, you were deflecting attention off of you.
I laughed and I was annoyed. Then you and half a dozen other people (or so) nit-picked everything apart and blew it all out of proportion during the most random stage of Day 1 speculation.
As you said, TRS is the most inconsistent player you have ever seen...and he was town last game. You and I (as scum) were able to easily exploit that fact. You were able to find out firsthand that his inexperience makes him an easy target for diversion, yet you chose to go after him from the get-go? A more pro-town position, based on your experience with TRS, would have definitely been to watch him a little bit more before yelling, 'Scum...right here!'
Yes Madcrawdad.. that is exactly what you and I did to him in the last game. Red was all by himself as a beginner who was innocent with nobody he was allowed to discuss that game with. We noticed how when he got confused or someone provoked him how easily he got angry, defensive, hostile, and erratic. And we grilled him for that every chance we got. Our whole team used that against him and all the innocents in that game simply because we could -- and simply because we needed him to change the vote he flubbed up by retracting it improperly. I took all the advantage I could of that fact in that game the same way anyone else would. What else was supposed to do... hold his hand? Was I supposed to give him a break or cut him some slack because he made an easy target of himself then? That's not part of this game and you know it.
Despite what happened to him then and this sudden high-minded attitude of yours you're trying to invent now about going easy on inexperienced players... you are doing the same thing to me in this game that we did to him in that one.
Red opened this game with a controversial post to lynch me. I sensed his little jab behind doing this on a lark, I suppose, because it was his silly way of getting back at me for giving him so much the grief last time. That's why it was funny. He admitted it wasn't serious, that he was having some fun with me... then it spiraled downhill from there. I wanted to find out how he would react this time after he showed us in the last game how well he began to catch on. Later in the game, he stopped being so defensive and actually started to post message that had actual substance to them. That's part of the learning curve that exists here.
In this game, I decided to test him on this and I threw a few rock at him over that lynch post he started. As I've said before, I took a little jab at him and threw out comments that made him seem suspicious. To Red's credit, he has learned a lot since that last game started and he didn't take that bait this time. But what I've done is no more scummy/mucsy than what all the rest of the people are doing here too.
Take IceH20, for example, who's clearly an advanced and very skilled player. Around the same point in this game, he threw out a random post saying he voted to lynch Maverick for the simple fact that his username was a synonym for the word "rebel." Ice later admitted that was nothing more than a ploy he came up with to test and find out what kind of reaction he would get. Maverick took that in stride, not giving Ice what he was looking for... so Ice dropped it and retracted the vote. Everyone else shrugged it off as the random swipe it was. No big deal. There wasn't a train of other players jumping all over it to make that little stunt seem to be more than it actually was. And nobody pushed it to get Maverick lynched for it either. Did this attempt or test make Ice a scummy player? No. Ice is already gone and we know he was an innocent.
Yes...but the mafia are the good guys this time around.
Agreed.. EVERYTHING in this game is completely different.
See my point above. You didn't accuse TRS of being suspicious...you yelled 'Scum...right here!' If you were a townie, not a very prudent thing to do based on your knowledge of his inconsistent play style.
What started out as a joke, Red since converted into a serious attempt to get me lynched. That's by far a lot more serious than he first intended it to be and he has since the beginning tried to re-explain his motives behind it to suit the position he has taken here later in the game. (Him claiming it's to "open everyone's eye that I'm scummy.")
Sure....whatever :headshake2:
Okay... < shrug >.
Pretty sure that TRS had nothing to do with the pressure on you...he happened to cast an early random vote for you and ended up sticking around. Yet he's the one you went after to discredit the hardest. Hmm..an easier target, perhaps?
He's the one who came after me with a joke first that's been turned into something deadly serious. Ever since that happened, I've been forced to spend all my available time defending myself from deliberate, contradictory, and unsubstantiated attacked from you. As long as you or others keep pushing this on me, my best approach to unravel the case you've built against me is to answer these questions as they present themselves and point out the source and the motivations behind them.
C'mon. Saying that you'd have to meet with your teammates before playing the game is absurd. As you learned last game, it's generally every man for themselves, anyway, so there's absolutely no reason you'd have to wait to chat with your team....Nice try at an explanation, but it doesn't make sense as there's no reason for it.
Most of the usernames on that player list belong to experienced mafia players that I don't know and I've never played with or against. As this game started, I was still going over the rules of this game trying to understand it because it was so confusing to me. If I'd found out I had a group of randomly assigned teammates that I could talk to about this, my most pressing interest would have been to establish contact with them as soon as I could.
See my point above about TRS's inconsistent play style.
Already addressed.
Once again, you give TRS too much credit for tightening the noose on your neck. Ice and BKW would have been much more responsible for any pressure coming your way than TRS.
No Mad.. Red isn't the one who did that. You're the one who keeps pushing it and who defends the campaign you've created against me. All Red actually managed to accomplish with that was give you an idea for the tactics you decided to pursue against me.
Convenient, though, that Zig had become one of your suspects even though you never got a chance to mention it in the thread. And even more interesting that with him as one of your new suspects, you still phrased your vote as simply 'to save yourself.' Saving yourself must've been more in the forefront of you mind than lynching scum.
When a person is the brink of getting lynched after not being here all day to defend himself/herself and they find themselves already in a tie that they can break on their own... many players do just that, regardless of whether they are mafia/wiseguy, innocent, or rebel scum. If I'd had more of a choice on the manner in which I could take part in this game, I would have much rather focused my time on rooting out suspicious players and analyzing who seemed innocent, or mafia, or mucs.
