Mafia 56. An Unknown Evil. THE GAME....

I'm interested in which game there was ever KGB involved. It might be one of the sporatic games I missed in the past but I get the other references.

I remember a CIA and FBI game. I missed some games also. I can't recall a KGB game.

Ogre has been known to crack when evil also. I am afriad he is going to do something desperate.
I might be completely wrong...I just remember that it's usually earlier into the game.

1) Fine. I've already said I'm not a baiter...lynch me for being curious about a potential new player to the game.
2) The way you worded it ("in my case") was an odd way to say it IMO and I immediately thought you have a role that possibly did what you described. If you had come out and said what you do when I asked it would have made a heck of a lot more sense to me. I still dont agree with not voting but whatever...
3) Sorry for posting my thoughts, I guess I should hold back instead of sharing info with the town. Annie posted about it, then I expanded, and DD followed up saying thats what she first thought. So I wasn't just making something up at the time. I thought it was pretty obvious Ogre had a role of some sort, whether it be good or evil.

1) I think you are a good baiter, need I say a master.
2) I don't agree with not voting, but I think the two day UD rule gives non-voters a way to hide.
3) I am glad you are posting your thoughts and so far you have had good input. I think the Ogre statement is true, I just am not sure if it needed to be posted. I also don't think Ogre needed to make his statement about a big target.

I remember that one. I also checked back to like #34 or so and couldn't find it...

A little disclaimer: I'm completely thinking outloud.

If in fact there is no game where there is a KGB role, I think Ogre slipped up once again and accidentally included a role from this game.

Now think about it, would the KGB be an asset to a town located in Alaska? I don't think so. If the KGB is a role for this game I'm almost positive its one (or all) of the "unknown evil".

Of course, the mayor also knows the rules and I assume therefore they know all the roles as well. But would the mayor so deliberately include a role from this game in the list of past roles to draw attention? A PR that is valuable to the town would not be so obvious as that, I would hope...but someone who was under fire earlier but pretty much written off for the time being might be careless.

I think this shifts Ogre from 50/50 to pretty sure he's not on the towns side...

1) I'm flattered, really. But the question had nothing to do with the gameplay. I wanted to know why Bubb didn't sign up. (I crosse my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye...)
2) I agree, but I do remember you using that as a potential way to get out of voting
3) Well, I posted and the way it looks now I think Ogre is in deep water again. As for what Ogre said, I see why he's a target but I can't say for sure why he posted...

This has to be the most interesting day one ever.

You guys are all fired up already and I'm still poking around with the rules and scenario that Wycco posted.

One by one the town members have died mysterious deaths until now, only a handfull remain. Things look bad for the town and a smell of evil permeates the town.

Only a handfull remain.... is 15 players a "handfull"??? Or does that mean some of us are already dead???

There is a small hope for the townsfolk though. Each morning an amateur newspaper is delivered mysteriously to all residents in the town. The origin of the paper, and who is publishing it, is unknown at this moment. The newspaper may contain hints to help the townsfolk.

An "amateur" newspaper... sounds like an underground thing then that comes either from a regular townie or scum. An "official" newspaper would probably come from the Mayor or be something like blue mist dreamed up by the (diabolical) game mod.

I notice the wording there that it MAY contain hints. So it might also contain misleading information. No help there either... even if it's full of useful clues, how would we know whether to trust them or not? We don't.

One man in the town knows the possible roles of the town but does not know who has each of these roles. The last mayor of the town on his deathbed secretly sent a message to one of the townsfolk detailing exactly what evil faced the town. He promoted this town member as his heir to be the new mayor of the town until all evil is defeated.

We can presume the Mayor is at least on the town side in the beginning. But if there's some threat posed from dead innocents, the Mayor could get killed or turned along with anyone else.

Wish we at least knew if this was a 50/50 format, a double mafia team format, or a regular small percentage of scum vs. a large majority of innocents.

6) The dead may not post on the conversation thread. Evil players who die will win if their evil team wins.

This makes it sound like we have 3 teams instead of 2.... innocent townies, an evil team of players, and who-knows-what kind of evil team (?) the dead innocents will create. Is there protection? Are there investigations? Are there going to be hits? We don't even have some kind of an order of events that take place at nightfall, other that we'll lynch someone and get a newspaper that morning.

7) INNOCENT PLAYERS WHO DIE ARE NO LONGER INNOCENT - it is forbidden for dead innocent players from communicating with living innocent players privately even if they had previously been allowed. The innocent dead have their own objective once they die and still have a chance (a small one) of winning at the expense of the living. DO NOT TRUST THE DEAD.

Dead innocents can't communicate with living innocents EVEN IF THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN ALLOWED. That's an important clue then... at least some of the innocents are allowed to communicate with each other. They can't continue talking to each other if one of them gets dies.

I know, I know... I'm quoting myself now which is weird. But I just thought of something else.

In what I think was Wycco's first game, we set up an informal "dead innocents" board... because we were bummed out that we got killed off so fast. At that board, we (mostly me) kept pestering Johnlarson (game mod that time) to let us send in after-death hits from the grave. He would't let us, of course, because there wasn't any legitimate mechanism in place for that in that game. But maybe that gave Wycco the idea to let dead innocents KILL out of revenge or something.

It should be interesting to find out what's going on as this game unfolds.

Fixing a typo here. Was meaning to change "dies" to "gets killed," but only did part of it.

They can't continue talking to each other if one of them gets dies.

I'm tired, so I'll stop posting now. Need to read through this all anyway to work up a suspect list or player rundown... since it's gotten so busy so fast.
