Mafia 56. An Unknown Evil. THE GAME....

i retract my vote for annie and vote to lynch kash.

her not voting by now makes me worry.

Heavy handed case-building?

Nothing about my play style is casual and I don't see a reason to try to play it off as such. I suppose I could question your comment in post #43 (Gah! This is going to be tough. <sigh>) as trying to do the same thing but I see no merit in that as its true, everyone is confused and this is going to be a hard game to figure out.

You of all people should know that by now Kash. All you've done is play around with with little rules we have. So far you have been non-existant in terms of actual analysis.

Yes, heavy handed case-building, Jpappy. JL made a bone-head post which he does quite often when he's being arbitrary on Day 1. I suspected him too when I read it and wanted to followup with it when I got back... then others did already before I got on here, (so that's come and gone with other activity that seems more suspicious from other players since then). While I still feel JL's post was pretty stupid and his later explanation is somewhat contradictory to what he'd said before, the way you voted him for it so fast and decidely.... seemed real convenient if you're both evil (distancing) or more likely suspicious for you if you're not both evil (you being more likely evil then and him possibly more innocent).

Yes, Pappy... you're welcome to question anything I say, especially since this is still Day 1, we've got nothing to go on, and it's a bizarre game format. Obviously.

As for that last paragraph, it's nothing but crap. How on earth am I supposed to provide analysis when I haven't been here?

Looks like I messed up the quote tags and Pappy's embedded Rocker quote popped on in my post as no longer embedded.

I was quick to the vote, but I don't see what that has to do with me being guilty. I walk the line between hating day one because there's nothing to go on and hating people who use that excuse. I tend to favor voting for a reason, early, and seeing what follows. Thats not case-building, thats reacting to what is posted. JL was all over the place but settled down and then Ogre slipped up twice so I moved. JL's still a suspect of mine.

My point was that my comment and your comment have no merit in anything. It was simply something I said out of frustration because at the time I didn't know what to think of Ogre.

I was merely stating that all you've said so far pretty much pertains to what the mod has posted not other players in the game. Looks like a struck a little nerve though...

That would be me... as usual... LOL

John, I appreciate the vote (or non-vote in this case) of confidence. However, even if you have me leaning innocent, that's not a very good reason for voting Annie. This is day one. As, as has been pointed out to me by you or jpap, my reason for voting Annie is incorrect anyway.

OK, now there's a train on Annie. Not that I'm sad, I might not be the one to go... or anything, I'm just wondering if I can be trusted by anyone after the events of this day. I really don't want to lead whatever good guys are around astray because of any presumed role (good or evil) I may have.

What the heck?!?!?! THis is pretty scary. I go away for almost a day to think things through and I come back to being not only, not the leading vote getter, but having two people following me onto someone for no reason.

DD, so if Annie is some kind of evil player, am I in the clear? If Annie is innocent, does that make me evil? Remember these day one votes are random.

This is just getting weirder and weirder

I can live with that. Provided it stays that way.

Kash is basically the deciding factor tonight. Provided that JM and rocker stay on their singleton votes. With the way things are going today, I'd be surprised if one of those two wasn't a bad guy. Singleton votes when everyone else is training is pretty scummy to me.
in response to the bold. I don;t see how Annie being anything makes you evil or in the clear... Annie has nothing to do with my suspicion of you and really, the more you post, the happier I am with my vote.

I'm just saying what happens. You should know this Ice, you are the worlds worst about the damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario.

Guys, there are no susepcts... besides me. It's day one. No one knows anything.
except for the mayor

What behavior are you talking about? I really see no case for Annie at all compared to Ogre and Phoenix.

Ice, I agree with you about Phoenix, but she's a total noob and I don't wish to take her out the first day.. as I posted already. I also don't see much that indicates coaching from evil teammates.. so I'm holding off on her. On Ogre... I'm still undecided. The whole game is vague and weird too, so nothing is straightforward enough yet for me to be comfortable about anything.

What added to my indecison about Ogre was the way he got put up for lynching so fast....... Early on, Annie and Jpappy both voted Ogre right away.. with DD joining in as a third vote. I was already wondering about Jpappy... then Annie's post also seemed unduly aggressive. So my impression from this about both Annie and Jpappy is very similar. I really don't like early Day 1 trains at all... the leading vote getters usually turn out to be innocents. So I look real hard at the players who seem most eager to take small issues and run with them.

To answer more about your question about Annie, these are the posts from him that concerned me... see below.

i vote to lynch ZSandman.

i retract my vote to lynch ZSandman and vote to lynch JL.

Reason(s) to follow.

I didnt skim the rules this time and I'm still confused. Time to play my noob card I think.

Here, Annie votes and retracts for no reason. The puts his vote on JL, saying reasons to follow. But there are no reasons given. And what he does say is meaningless nonsense.

The sheep in Ireland must be very nervous at this point.

My reason for voting JL: His funny post about JPap going off to college and experimenting with drugs. College is nothing to joke about JL. I used to dream of going to college, whenever I'd fall asleep in high school.

Now here.. Annie gets around to giving us his reason for voting JL after all. But he's voting him over a joke made about college? WTF is that? It's got nothing to do with the game.

This post has me wondering two things.

#1:What role did you get?

#2:What role did you get?

This post seems more reasonable at least.. finally. Ogre did draw valid suspicion upon himself for his statement that we may all have power roles.

As I read on last night/this morning... I caught these comments from Luvbugz which made some valid points, IMO.

I vote to lynch Annie.

I really don't have alot to go on right now. The Jpap and JL thing was a little weird. JL's answers hurt my little brain. I do agree with some that Ogre seems to have a power role. I don't agree that it makes him an auto bad guy. He is def. on "my needs to be watched list." The reason for the vote for Annie is because most games he has just followed the lead; came in late and voted for whomever was taking the most heat. He seems to be very agressive this time around. Makes me thinks he has an evil role of some kind.

I won't lie. I am hesitant to post my thoughts because of not knowing what evil I am up against. I have always felt like the bad guys use people's lists to their advantage. Even with that said, I will post my thoughts in hopes to help my fellow townies. I do like reading others because it helps me sometimes "see" things I have overlooked. (If that makes sense).
These are the people I have leaning evil:
Phoniex
Jpap
Annie
DD

Phoniex: for the exact reason Ice pointed out. I noticed her vote on Ice looked like it had been coached. For someone who hasn't played before, why would she be worried about Ice's lack of posting?? Sounds like someone on her team told her that Ice was someone to watch and hence the vote.

Jpap: Jpap I was flipflopping on. His rebuttal to my vote on him seemed sincere and the thought crossed my mind to change my vote back to Annie. BUT then he turns his whole "we shouldn't vote for Ogre because he might be good PR" to a wacko theory about past game plot. To me, it looked like Jpap changed his vote because of the pressure from a few of us. Truly, my vote on Jpap had more to do with his baiting questions about my dad than anything. Now, the whole 180 about Ogre makes me go hmm.. It looks like a little bit of pressure on him is making him squirm.

Annie: Came to the game full guns blazing. Now has caught a little heat and has disappeared again. First one to call Ogre out and vote for him. While I am still not sure of what side Ogre is voting for, Annie was quite quick to jump to voting for him. A little too quick IMO.

DD: SKIMMING!!!! I know that this doesn't make anyone an auto evil, but completely missed Annie's vote for Ogre. Quoted it as one of her reasons for voting for Ogre. When corrected, her vote on Ogre still stands. Hmmm.... Seems like she doesn't really care why she is voting. Hmmm...

Now, I want to address the whole Ogre thing. I, in no way am saying Ogre is/isn't evil. I am just at the point where I would like to take a wait and see approach. I have been guilty of exactly what Ogre has done. Said something that you knew would sound incriminating eventhough you meant something totally different. A select few usually take it and run with it, leaving you feeling defeated because nothing you can say afterwards helps the situation. I call it pulling a Bugz ;) So far, Ogre has done nothing IMO that screams EVIL to me. I could be wrong on him, but this is just where I am coming from at the moment. He has tweaked my spidey sense and will be closely watched from now on.

So yes, I do see a mild case already against Annie... just not one compelling enough to vote him for it.

Now, Annie.. Ogre.. and Phoenix are our most likely candidates to get lynched. While I do see good reasons to suspect all three of them, I also feel the cases against each one aren't strong enough to kill either of them this early on.

Pappy.. the overall impression I have from everyone thus far is that you're the one who's been steering the boat. That's what stands out from what I've skimmed and what I'd gone back to read over again later. And if that's the case, then it worries me. So that's why I'm voting you.

My point was that my comment and your comment have no merit in anything. It was simply something I said out of frustration because at the time I didn't know what to think of Ogre.

Yes, that I understand.. can't disagree with you on this.

Yes, at that point in the game.. it's all I had to work with. What little we can glean from the rules is all we're going to get to help us figure this out.

And no, you didn't strike a nerve. I was already voting you before you posted this.

This is a far as I'm going to get right now. I have to go out for an appointment now that'll take a few hours. I may or may not be back in time to review what else goes on before nightfall.

<snip> Afraid to commit?
Thanks Kash, you just answered my question.

If my memory serves me correctly, Luvs comment about Annie is not at all true Kash and you would know that.

In the last vamp game Annie started getting aggressive before she was turned. I didnt follow any of the off site convos we had at that point because I was so busy but I'm pretty sure you said yourself that she wanted to act like the doc in order to be turned...not sure.

Last game though he slid under the radar and was an evil scientist. Didn't cause a stir which is what ticked off Z when the game was over.

So saying that his "aggresiveness" now means that he has an evil role is not at all correct.

Pappy.. the overall impression I have from everyone thus far is that you're the one who's been steering the boat. That's what stands out from what I've skimmed and what I'd gone back to read over again later. And if that's the case, then it worries me. So that's why I'm voting you.

The only thing that might be perceived as steering is me questioning why people have not picked up on Ogres slips. I find it very interesting that certain people have the opposite opinion.

Other than that, the vote is not what I was referring to. Makes no difference though.

I just want to hear the thoughts (of those voting for me) of what they will be thinking if I turn up innocent.

I want all this out and about BEFORE the nights lynching takes place.
I'll be at a complete loss and probably get pounded pretty hard tomorrow. But I'm ok with that.

My current suspects are still DD, JL, Phoenix, and I'll add Kash to the mix. Can't say for sure where that would take me in terms of voting but I don't have to decide until after your fate is sealed.
