Night fall of Day 4 at 8 PM EST Saturday, 07/28

Unless the detective does have a brain of their own and realizes that roles are assigned randomly...in which case they might have looked elsewhere. There are other folks playing the game with us.

Because I have to play something... if everything everyone does is totally random, then nothing we've done matters.

not necessarily true....

You're saying that if you were detective, you would investigate a list of veteran folks who could potentially 'hurt' you as mafia, ie a preconceived list something like:

Coler
Ice
JohnLarson
Z, etc.

I'm saying that the detective might sit back and say, 'hey, that cat's acting pretty scummy' and decide to take a look at someone not on your preconceived list. Since Coler, Ice, and some other good players are gone, I sure hope they looked elsewhere. Although problem is, with the Don's innocent read, the detective can't clear anyone, only finger them.

You say detective should hold out for 4 hits, I would say 2. You know that this could be over tonight and we NEED to hit mafia now. Waiting for 4 could get the detective whacked, as the Don has been investigating and narrowing his list of hits also.

Ogre, why not go with the snitch's list from last night? There were only 3 named, which increases the odds of hitting mafia. Also, how come nobody from last night's snitch list made your mafia list?

BTW: because there is supposed to be only one snitch list. Four names. That's it.

My take, even if rb said that player x has been seen in every Italian restaurant in town, the majority wouldn't believe and those that did would become whipping boys for the next team of mafia and quietly change their vote.

My vote stays and if your innocent, then we have well and truly been played and deserve to lose the town. I won't get into the 3 players left thing. That's just embarrassing.

Fine, if you think the detective should come out then let him come out. We get one or two hits, then the mafia run us over. Because as soon as the detective says something, then it's all over for him... unless one of the stealth mafia counters.

Unlike last game, no one here trusts anyone, so a false detective would be totally believed.

Ogre, you're playing a little too much like you did in Mafia3 when you were Mafia leader and I was Mafia also. I think you're trying your best to lead innocents astray by giving them advice that sounds "unreproachable." If anyone believes I'm an innocent this round, please beware the good advice of Ogre because if he was for the town I don't think we'd be in such dire circumstances as we are now.

I've just been thinking about the detective role and something concerns me... Ogre advises the detective to stay put unless they have 4 mafia hits (which is impossible since we have only had 3 nights, but it's quite possible that he really did have his days mixed up as he claims). Here's the thing that worries me now, could Ogre be mafia and know who the detective is (thru the Don's investigations), and therefore be urging the detective not to give any information before they hit them tonight? Not sure, but if the detective has even 2 mafia, I'd hope they'd consider coming forward.

Things look bleak and IMO Ogre has tried to discourage both the vig and the detective from completing their tasks today. Makes me a little nervous...

very good points...hmm

OK detective, come out and at least tell us who's innocent and that we can kinda trust.

The detective is unable to clear anyone because of the Don's read as innocent...unless the detective has at least 2 hits there's no reason to show themself. With regard to your other point, it might be hard for some to trust the claimed detective.

The Detective should say something anyway, like it went in game 5.....we need to get the Mafia before they can wipe us out...and if the Vig. is an Innocent, which I am sure they are, then they can help the town and get the Mafia out and win another game....We do need the Detective just like you said Mad, to help us out before they are whacked by the Mafia...
