Mafia #6.....The Play

Guys, just hear me out. Unless Jmax was the Don and DD was just Mafia with hidden identity as I've hoped, then the town will lose if JL is innocent and the Mafia takes another innocent. Have you considered that Ogre may be Mafia? I've always had niggling thoughts about Ogre and Mad's post #2186 and mee-mee's post #2198 just confirms my beliefs more and more everytime I read them:

Day 1 Nothing special...only thing interesting that I remember is he voted for MND for 5 minutes and then ended up going after Ice for no real reason. Ice accused Ogre of revenge vote? I think that the reason he went after Ice so easily is that Madcrawdad was also on the chopping block, but there wasn't a whole lot of support. He could look like he was voting Mike w/ the rest of the town then pull his vote off which was indirectly a vote for Madcrawdad.

Also issues a blistering post claiming that anyone voting for JudgeMax was absoluted mafia. I also disagreed with the plan as I thought going after Judge was a distraction. There was a groundswell of support for the idea, and Ogre came down a little hard IMO. If anyone saw my post earlier, I now feel that Judge was Don, and Ogre was quick to defend as he didn't want to lose a mafia member, particularly one with investigative powers.

Day 2 Pretty good sized lynch train for Mike and Madcrawdad...really comes on strong to defend Madcrawdad. I think it's also Day 2 where he kept posting that he was sure that at least 2 people in the game now 'knew' that he was innocent, and he was willing to stake his life on it. Not sure what that means. Also claims to know who the doctor was.

Day 3 Charlie Stubbs the snitch does some investigating, and now apparently catches me in a BIG LIE. Ogre goes bananas....how could he have been fooled by Mad? Charlie Stubbs??!! C'mon, Chas played a good game of mafia by looking like he was running around in circles (vote here, no there, back here, etc.). Now Ogre's buying in and it's time to lynch Madcrawdad...C'mon guys, let's lynch Mad.

Not a lot of support at the time, so it's Ice who ends up going as he's acted a little jumpy. Now seriously, is there any doubt in townies minds as to who masterminded the Ice lynching? Ogre squarely laid it at Sploke's feet in a post earlier today, but it was Ogre who tossed the 4 names out there that people had to pick from...take a some responsibility Ogre, you were the one screaming that Ice and Mad were in cahoots. Even when Ice turned up as doctor, I was still guilty?

Day 4 Ogre sees that there's a lot of people now off of Mad's back, and it might look like he's playing with blinders on, so he takes a different tact.....Yup, according to rb's descriptions Mad must be innocent. Town is still in total disarray, and the 2 trains that day are Nick and Swayde.

Day 5 Town in total disarray. It's coming down to Swayde vs. Zman....guess wrong and lose. BKW reveals himself...Hooray. People switch to Charlie. BKW admits to only having read 20% of the thread, and Madcrawdad was possibly still on his mafia list. Who seizes on this and says, 'I'm voting for Mad tomorrow?' What? Thanks, but BKW said he only read 20% of the thread. And according to an earlier post Ogre is a scientist who goes with what the evidence tells him....Mee-mee reveals herself as vig and asks who to hit. Ogre steps up...'I'd hit Madcrawdad'. Okay, what are we doing here? If I bite at his bait, the town could easily be ripped apart at this point, and maybe Charlie won't get lynched after all. Why even risk it?

Day 6 In one of his posts lays the blame for Ice's lynching squarely at Sploke's feet. I also deduce that Judge may have been Don, which makes Ogre's outbursts seem a little shady.

I'll vote with the town tonight, but I think we really need to consider Ogre also. I had thought that the town had a little time to mull this over, but since it looks like night will fall earlier I'll put it out there now...there's always a chance that I might not be alive tomorrow.

Yesterday, when I was going back and forth, looking at his postings and DD's posting in the other games (as they were Mafia then)...okay I already explained DD...now here is what I found interestin about Ogre...he was confused alot in this game...just go back and read some you will see...and he did the same in game 5 when he was Mafia and game 3.....he played the confused card....WHEN DOES NIGHT END...WHAT NIGHT ARE WE ON...HOW MANY FINDS COULD THE DETECTIVE HAVE HAD...EVEN THOUGH WE WERE ON DAY 3....ya all will just have to go back and read his posts....I am really beginning to feel that he is Mafia....but I really dont have much time left so if some one could give me a good reason not to change my vote him then it will stick to JL...but I really believe he is a better candidate then JL....

I also have a larger fear of Ogre being Mafia than of JL. When I played a Mafia in Mafia 3 with Ogre (Ogre was also Mafia), I remember him posting his list of Mafia suspects and included one of our fellow Mafia (CCMan) on the list. The reason he listed was something to the effect that he just got this Mafia vibe on him. And after Nick was lynched and I requested all townies that cared to make a list of their top 3, this is King's post:

This is if you're willing to believe that KOTD is also Mafia as I believe he is.
So if anyone else is willing I will change my vote. Mad I see you watching, what do you think? Should we chance it on JMax or someone other than DD being the DON?
 
Oh, not you too Plantling. It's a setup by JohnLarson and maybe Mad...

Tell you what, if JohnLarson is Mafia, then tomorrow is going to be very interesting.

I think everyone needs to post a list of their impressions of everyone in the game today... before tonight if possible.
 
Plantling I actually wanted to vote for ogre, but a) there were already a lot of comments saying "anyone who votes for ogre is mafia, and b) I was afraid it would be a wasted vote because it seems there's already a train going on JL regardless.

I've been suspicious of ogre on and off for the better part of the game, but it always seems like there is "one better suspect". I don't like wasting votes this late in the game and I hate blanket statements like "everyone who votes for such and such is clearly mafia". The only people its that clear to is the other mafia because they know who is who. Screw it, you know what I'm changing my vote, I'm tired of getting railroaded by the masses. I suggest anyone who feels the same to vote their gut instead of being intimidated by mafia power players.

We're all mafia because most of us have suspected him since day 1 or 2 and are finally getting organized enough to vote on him? Unless you're the detective (which you're not) then you have about as much surety that ogre is innocent as anyone else. Unless of course you're mafia also and know you need to protect him because we're finally making some progress here.
 
sploke: I'm Innocent, sway is Innocent, and mee-mee is Innocent. Haven't you been paying attention. Hello, McFly? :D Voting for Ogre is voting against three proven Innocents that have already said we aren't changing our votes. So if you are Innocent you are giving the Mafia enough swing to win the game.
