mafia 63- Who is Who

Nope. I just think that the things you're calling scummy are more noob-ish, so it sticks out to me, especially since you've made such a big deal about not wanting to vote for noobs in the past. It's not much, and I'm not saying you're definitely scummy, but it's the best I have at the moment.

My vote is subject to change (as always), if something better presents itself.

Do you think changing a vote 3x in a span of 4 hours is noobish? Seems off, even for a noob, to me.

Yes, it seems noobish to me. Especially given the lack of posted rules regarding voting. I can see why a noob would be confused.

FF knew how to retract...what else needs to be known?

Since they'll probably never see this, I'd say Ice, Ogre and Z ;). Actually, though, I'm not going to name names, as there's no real unanimous decision to move forward with the plan. No sense bruising egos for no reason.

Thanks, Marv. You can't have 11 quarterbacks, but to work as a team, you need everyone giving 110%...firing on all cylinders...leaving it all out on the field. Now back to you in the booth. ;)

Actually, I'm not talking about ability, I'm talking about effort, and the generally non-contributing lurker who can kill you in an end-game situation. Someone, whose play through Day 4 gives you no clue as to their alignment. Scum pushes them as lynch candidates late in the game, and the player has no defense...they've really done nothing pro-town.

Based on the setup, my plan is no more effective than any other for hitting scum on D1, it just helps minimize the risk to the town if an innocent gets lynched.

My favorite part - "I'm not going to name names, as there's no real unanimous decision to move forward with the plan. No sense bruising egos for no reason. "

So unless we all decide to follow your plan, you are unwilling to put some names out there. I am guessing you wanted OTHER players to name "a player who has historically been generally unhelpful (ie, lack of effort/lurking, little original thought, etc.) to the town, even when they've been town-aligned."

You are unwilling to call anyone out.

Mad, based on your critera (a player who has historically been generally unhelpful (ie, lack of effort/lurking, little original thought, etc.) to the town, even when they've been town-aligned.) who would be your top suspects? Yes I have asked again.

What I don't like is that you have a plan, but don't want to take any of the risk associated with the plan. You want someone else to do the dirty work.

I retract my vote on Zaffy and vote to lynch Madcrawdad.

I think his plan was to cause friction between other players at little risk to himself.

Also this game is different. There might be 2 different groups of 2 talking to each other, but they also have a 50% chance of each leader to have picked an opposing team member so their could be no one talking to each other. Being a team building game, it will take a few days to see forms.

I would like mad to name some a players who have historically been generally unhelpful (ie, lack of effort/lurking, little original thought, etc.) to the town, even when they've been town-aligned.

This post makes a lot of sense to me JL. I see the point you're making about the game being different. Do you have any ideas on how to proceed.

I also see what you're saying about mad. I'd also like to hear who he thinks may be a good day 1 vote based on his plan... or otherwise. It seems to me like the plan may be a way to get people talking about it rather than looking at others' behavior.

My thought was that people with PR's tend to hang back a little, trying not to draw attention. Easier to not slip up when you dont say anything at all...

This is why often times PR's are thought to be mafia. In a normal mafia game (an informed minority vs an uninformed majority) mafia actions are a little more noticable. In this game, it is 50/50 split - the mafia and innocent both are uninformed on who their teamates are. Plus the teams are EQUAL, both have a leader that has no idea who is on their team and they both must find teamates and their PR.

Game play on 50/50 matches is different. I normally don't like the 50/50 matches, but I do like the team building matches.

I would then think it would be more "noticeable" this game since at this point the bosses might not have a single other player to confide in, yet. The bosses know that they cannot be lynched (or hit when it comes to that point) so why would they try to be in the spotlight?

I think mafia are more active when they have a team and are able to plan things out if they need to, or at least part of the team might be.

This all could just be a matter of personal opinion though...nothing's all that objective.

I would think the goal would be to take out the other teams boss. So I would think, what would I do if I was the boss and look for clues as far as that goes. Then you also have to look for people that seem to be doing the exact oppisite. I would think "what would so and so do if they were the boss" and watch their actions. Who would they get for their team?

Also I would take into consideration that Ice is modding the game and the game format he has came up with. This is why I would not vote for a noob at this stage and highly question anyone that would even suggest it. There are two bosses, the game is built around two bosses building a team. There is no way that Ice would give a boss role to a newbie. It would put the game at too much risk to fail.

Correct me if I am wrong but I remember the last time this was played it didn't last long because a boss was lynched, and I'm pretty sure they were not a vet or power player in any way. I'm going to check this so stay tuned...

So in this format it is most likely that the bosses are low posters and not be in the spotlight?

So knowing that, a boss would be safer to be in the spotlight? Plus if you are a player that normally plays in the spot light, if you step out of the spotlight, you are suspect.

Also past roles and past game play has NOTHING to do with the current game.
