Mafia #7 -- The Play

For right now, not too much. Ice was my top suspect for today, and i havent seen to much else that makes me see another possible lynch candidate for the next day. We still have plenty of time to find one though, thats why it is important to keep people talking. Like you said HN, the lack of discussion does not help, i feel like a hypocrite for saying this, as i havent talked all that much in this game, but i have been really busy, and i am sure other people are too. It is hard to be on so much, because summer is really coming to an end.

But as of right now, no i dont have any other main suspects, but something about Z isnt right this game. He seems to be more apt to follow, and not lead like usual. Also, he doesnt seem to be as helpful as usual when it comes to posting tallys and other things of that sort.

Anyone else seeing this?

HN, i disagree. Z is usually one of the most active players, which isnt the case for this game. He also usually posts tallys and lots more thoughts than he has this game.

That game is a runaway, LSU still looked like they had to fight pretty hard for a #2 playing an unranked.

jo... you are way off base bud. This has been something brewing since the werewolf game and it needs to be said. Why am I being accused of not playing right and not being as helpful any more? I post my thoughts, my lists, and my tallys, but I work too. Here's something I did in a few minutes to give you a show of what I'm talking about.

What are these numbers? Posts. Number of posts by all remaining players. Up till I started doing this post out a few minutes ago. I've posted three times for every post you've made jo. You weren't on my short list before but you are now.


sploke, were cool, I was just feeling you out and so far I haven't gotten anything Mafiosiy out of you. I just made up that word, patent pending. Not saying you are Innocent but I think you are less likely than many others to be Mafia.

I still think if King is Detective he played this wrong long term wise, but I'm not the Det. so all I can do is follow what he is telling us for now and tomorrow Night go from there. It's possible still that they are both Mafia and this is a ruse to get King in on our good side. Either way though I vote to lynch IceH2O

Here's the quote where Swayde made her now famous 'I won't be posting much this game' statement...Chas and I go on to discuss the believability of Swayde's statement, and agree that it makes her possibly appear as mafia (at least on Day 1).

There's not much to go on so far. I know it will most likely make me look suspicious, but I did warn ya'll in the sign-up thread that I will not be able to post nearly as much as I have in the past, nor at all hours of the day. I'm going to do my best though to help the town out. I'd hate to see all of my hard earned money from the store taken away by crooks aka mafia =)

Ice embeds Swayde's quote from above in his response below...Note that he doesn't say 'I agree with Chas and Mad that Swayde looks guilty.' He says 'This also struck me as strange.' Implies that it's not just Chas and Mad who believe Swayde is mafia. Ice admits that upon reading Swayde's statement, he thought she might be mafia too. Read the entire post, you'll see Ice is FOR lynching Swayde, not just following Chas and Mad.

Also wants to 'discuss' lynching DD early again...just in case. Note that he's not just wanting to discuss for discussion-sake. He says that he would have no qualms about keeping DD if he thought she were helpful to the town. Ice wants DD GONE (regardless of the fact that he's now claiming this was just his attempt to 'trap' mafia)...

This also struck me as strange. I know people do it in the sign up thread IN CASE they get the mafia role so they won't seem as suspicious when they don't post. But then to repeat it after roles are given out, its almost like posting I'm innocent don't lynch me.

I was thinking all day about the NEW and OLD mafia. When I ran my game nothing about the roles were random, I handpicked each and every person for what I thought would make a good game.

If Rb did the same then the NEW mafia could be players that haven't played as much, since none of us are really new.
These would include: Sway Joander Lady G Deputy Sploke as possible new mafia. With Sways "post" I'm throwing my suspicion that way and could be voting for her today.

OLD mafia could be the people that have played in all of the games or most of them. That list would include KOTD DD Charlie Mad Mee mee. They have played in almost every game. DD is one that I wouldn't mind voting for either. While she barely helps the town out with lists and observations she always seems to stick around. Plus when she has been mafia she has been really good at it. I don't feel comfortable keeping her around. If she was known to help, like Mad, I wouldn't have any qualms with keeping her.

Whats your guys thoughts? Am I reaching or do you think this idea has some substance?
Even if the idea is a little left field what about we discuss Sway and DD? How do you feel about the way they play? Are they assets to us?

Here's Ice's now famous 'freak out' as it's being referred to. Note that he's not just back-pedalling, he's also tossing Chas and Mad to the wolves. Why? In his quote above he clearly came to the same conclusion about Swayde as Chas and I did, all by himself...He says 'I also thought this was strange' and goes onto dig into Swayde. He never says 'Boys, you've really convinced me,' which would imply that he's following someone else.

I just want to point out I wasn't the one to start this train, in case it ends up bad.

Charlie and Mad both made points about it but didn't vote till after I did. Could they be mafia? Planting the seed and seeing if anyone waters it till it grows into a tree capable of hanging a noose from?

If Sway is innocent, though she isn't exactly fighting the train, they are 2 I would look at closely.

Assuming that Ice is guilty, I would then look at WChix. Not necessarily lynch her yet, but watch closely. Her more recent posts are curious to me. She's trying hard to discredit KOTD as detective, yet at the same time recommending that if Ice is the snitch we keep him around. Either you believe King at this point or you don't, why's she playing both sides of the fence?

The Doctor...has the ability to protect one person each game night, if that person is on a hit list, they can not protect on a lynch. They do this by sending me a PM at game nightfall on who is to be protected that night. Be sure to protect the right person, Doctor! The Doctor can't protect them self .

The Detective...investigates the Town Residents to confirm Mafia identities, and find other special role players. The Detective can do one investigation each game night by PM to me and I will confirm the identity. When he finds the Doctor, they can communicate.


The "Snitch". One of the Mafia is a Snitch. Since their cousin Vinny was ousted by the Mafia last year, they feel some revenge is needed. The Snitch does not reveal his identity to anybody, not even the Don, except by me upon their death. The Snitch will PM me a list of 3 names, their choosing, whenever I ask. At least one member of this list will be a Mafia member.These names will be worked into the night time story line. Innocents do not want to kill the snitch too early, and the Mafia want him gone quickly...maybe, depends on their plans.

I am surprised that rbishop revealed that IceH2O was the Snitch. I thought it was only in death. If they were on the same mafia team, the Don would not know who the snitch was.

I do not think KOTD is mafia. Well unless Ice is proven innocent. If he comes up mafia and the snitch, then it is different.

I also like the idea that the Detective and Doctor can talk to each other, I hope they find each other soon.

Yes he will pay dearly. Thing is, if he was just guessing and hoping for the best there is no way he would have tried to guess the snitch. KOTD is the detective IMHO
I also agree that with the score tied on him, he had no choice but to come out. Should he have hinted at being the Detective? I think not, but once he hinted he had no choice but to come out.
Agreed. It's fortunate he had a sucessful investigation. Had he investigated an innocent, he would probably be dead soon.

At this point, I see no reason to give out other names or put out a list. We still have a hit to survive. Any information we give out now just help the mafia to make a hit.
I disagree. We need to ferret out the weasels so King can investigate anything suspicious. They will hit only people they suspect of being the doc methinks now, they can't afford to take thier time with the troublemakers anymore. Personally im keeping the heat on Sploke and would like to discuss investigating him.
I hope the Doctor will protect KOTD. The mafia's only chance is to get the Doctor to have some doubt in KOTD being the Detective and protect someone else. Please protect KOTD.
Unless the doctor is a fool i think King will survive until Ice is lynched. But just in case: I STRONGLY AGREE THE DOC PROTECT KING UNTIL WE FIGURE THIS ALL OUT!!!!
Lets wait until the next day to talk about the other mafia. Maybe KOTD will find another one.

I am all for being investigated. Anyone that KOTD can clear would be good for the town.

I have also posted one person who I think is mafia. I just do not want to put out a long list at this time.

I had to come back and post this because you people are blind to everything.

I'm sorry wata if I'm outing you but they can't seem to see it.

Has anyone seen that Wata is the only one besides me calling out KOTD and deflecting guilt from me? Could she be the real detective? Is she trying to let you know without actually revealing it?

The mafia is laughing at you guys so hard they can't post. KOTD and his team have you in the palm of their hands. Jl are you the Don? Just asking you don't have to answer..

KOTD is tipping my meter toward mafia, with that "100%" post. I agree that it would be kind of silly to come out as detective on the second day, and the only other way to be completely sure of that is if the other person is on your mafia team. Its possible that they created a setup where they would sacrifice Ice in order to get KOTD in with the innocents...but in my experience as mafia in past games, its never really worked like that. The townies usually gave the mafia way too much credit for creating intricate setups, when in reality all that was really required was to sit back and let them run over each other for the first 3 or 4 days. Maybe I was just in boring mafia groups, but I don't think that was it...

Ice has had some suspicious posts, but I don't think its enough right now to warrant a vote from me. I will begrudgingly hold off for now, that distancing business from starting the lynch train yesterday is still highly suspect.

I will agree that Sploke is a good suspect.
