I think his reasoning at the time was that he wasn't sure that everyone got roleplay roles, that only innocents were given suggestions, which made him think she was an innocent since she got a role suggestion. Ice then clearred it up by saying that he pm'ed rb, who said everyone got suggestions, not just innocents.

I originally thought that the logic behind sway was decent, but started considering things after she had posted for a bit....At that point I decided to go after a suspect I had come up with on my own...In the end, wata seemed like a better choice in my opinion...I wasn't going to be around during the day to post, but was hoping my vote would get some decent discussion....As CS has told me in previous games I'm supposed to help to bang on some doors, I'm trying to do my part in that regard...

The 1st quote is by Jpap, I think at the time he thought only innocents got role play roles handed to him. This makes me think he is an innocent IMO.

Actually I did think this at first, that's why I thought swayde was innocent at the end there...but I guess everyone got a role so there still was a chance she could have been mafia, but she wasn't...sucks we lost her, but Lady G is gone...sorry sway for doubting you!

Well carp. Looks like the Old Mafia are as good this game as the FBI were last game I hate that we lost Sway though, I really did think she had slipped up and shown herself. I guess we can expect that some Mafia are on the sway train and some are probably spread over the other candidates??? I know KOTD is high on my list for removing his vote, and DC and DD as well.

Lady g (168) voted for Sway and then jpappy (169) voted Sway the very next post. These were the last two votes on her.

If you look at my earlier posts I believe I state several times my suspicions of swayde before many other people do. I voted sway late because I was contemplating whether or not I would have time to vote today and I didn't want to rush into a vote...turns out I would have had time, but oh well, you would have blamed me for a late vote anyways...

Eh, the convenience store was not my idea. It was suggested to be my role if I chose to roleplay. So I guess in the future I'll just stick to my house and goldfish.

time is winding down and no effort fron swayde to save herself. i at least hoped she would make a case, or post a list for us to consider. She admits she did something suspicious but claims to be innocent. If i were in her shoes i would be trying my damnest to make a case and find a scumbag to hang if i were really innocent, but nothing. Have you thrown in the towel Sway??

I PMed Rb he said he sent everyone roles to use if they chose to roleplay.

I was supposed to be a Carpenter if I role-played, but have a hard enough time reading and analyzing. Never was a very good creative writer, so I don't even try. Better than hairdresser though, aye Charlie?! LOL

Crap. I went back and looked and see what I think you mean Ice. jpappy obviously got a RP role, and he sees that Sway is saying she got an RP role. He then implies that if she got a role then she must be Innocent. But I've seen almost everyone play a role so far. Well at least of the folks the roleplay, there are a few that don't My favorite part, although I haven't been up to snuff since the WW game.

I'll revoke my vote for jpappy pending more information.

Sandy finishes his rounds for the day, the stray dog problem slowly getting under control. The key is the MASH style neutering kit he carries in his truck. Strictly catch, cut, scoop, sew, and release around here, the kennel is full. Content on a full day including seeing a Mafia fall to their own kind he rounds the corner to the local pub and grabs a pint then heads home. Bed time for the tired Dogcatcher.

The buzzword of the day is 'Cluster'

If I don't do it now the trains will start and no one will even discuss my posts.
I vote to lynch jpappy

Z, your use of 'clusters' (as you like to call them) makes me a little nervous, and also makes me question your affilaition within the town. On Day 1 you tossed out the idea and even floated a couple of clusters. When JPap questioned you on the clusters, you admitted that you didn't even use the time stamp on the post to determine your clusters. Seems a little odd to me, seeing that the time stamp would be the only variable that would seem to make sense when creating the clusters. What were you hoping to achieve when clustering by posting order? If I recall correctly, folks in some of your clusters posted several hours apart.

I agree that there may be something to some clusters sometimes, but I'm not going to start voting for people based on them without an established pattern (especially on Day 1 or 2). Had you gone back and looked at previous games and said 'In Mafia 5, players A, B, and C frequently posted within minutes of each other, and all 3 ended up mafia...' and also given a few more cases, then I could buy into the idea. But you haven't. It appears that you're willing to start testing your theory in a 'live' game, which could have a very negative impact on the town.

Now others have also seized on the 'clusters'. HN is even painting me into one with Joander and DeputyChief for my vote on Swayde, even though I'm willing to share the engineer hat with Chas (Ice has made it REALLY clear that he doesn't want it).

Folks should vote for who they want to, but I think we need to be detectives and lynch based on facts. Not play statisticians and try to do a cluster analysis on data that's qualitative at best. Willingness to lynch somebody based on this untested cluster analysis sure seems anti-town to me.

Crud!!! I really thought Swayde was Mafia. We do need to learn from this, though. Along w/ what Swayde felt and Lady G's posts I think Ice may very well be Mafia. I did a quick run down of Lady G's posts:

172-JL, HN, mee-mee (She suspects 3 pple not voting Swayde as being on Swayde's team)
173-Sploke, Wata, Swayde (She states these have not voted)

posts 208 and 209 have quotes and I haven't learned to do quotes within quotes yet, so I'll just say that she basically tore into Ice. Even though Lady G was New Mafia, I believe she was on to the OLD Mafia. Last game I was CIA and on to JL and DC who were FBI and got taken out first round. We must consider the possibility for this game.

Therefore unless something more compelling arises, I vote to lynch Ice.

My other suspects are:
KOTD for not voting and not being helpful
JL for not being helpful imo

Think post 210 explains it pretty well. I can't keep reiterating the same old stuff over and over.She only grabbed a hold of me after others had already brought the topic up. Typical mafia move to cast more suspicion on someone thats already a target.

LG posted a lot of names, casted a pretty wide net. She named Sploke and wata twice also. No one really bit on them though so she let them slide. Distancing or naming more innocents. Any names that she claims might be on Sways team are somewhat cleared IMO as I don't think she'd name her own on a person she knows is innocent.

As for the votes on me. I totally understand. I would question me also. But if you read the posts I think I explained it well. Like I said, after the mob piled onto the train it made me wonder if she actually was innocent. I didn't want to be the scapegoat. Call it what you want. My comment after the 1st vote was nothing more then a joke. But I feel the mafia took it as an opportunity to hang me. I'd also be wary of the train thats already been started on me and think we need to take a close look at those people.

sorry ice, i just didnt see the reason. I wasnt disagreeing with it. In my mind it makes sense, as if swayde isnt going to be around much then she wont be able to help the town much. I like the thinking, especially for a first vote. But i dont think that im ready to vote for swayde quite yet simply because of those reasons.

Sway posted in the sign up thread that she wouldn't be posting much. People do that in case they get a mafia role so they can lay low.

Sway then reiterated that she wasn't going to be around much in the game thread. Again reminding us she would be laying low, did she get the mafia role?

Saying you're going to be laying low is almost the same as posting you're an innocent. A red flag type post.

I'm not the only one to poiint it out. Actually Charlie or Mad was 1st, I just decided that you only get answers through actions. I acted ,responses are coming in.

yeah, i agree ice. I have re-read and i guess things just didnt click exactly before. I see your point about swayde, and it is a valid one indeed. It is like she is making it a point to make sure everyone knows she wont be around much this game.

I would consider a vote for swayde, but im going to hold off for a short time just to make sure no one who deserves a vote more pops up.

Then in 149 a mere 47 minutes later he has had time to go to a store buy a TV and get back to post and makes a vote he said he wasn't going to make with so much time left in the day

There seems to be a lot of suspicion around me, and id like to try to clarify. This is the quote that started it all, and id like to explain what i meant. I had read most of the posts, but then i did happen to skim over a few and miss the reason. All i was looking for was clarification on why he was voting, that is all. I went back and re-read, and it made sense to me what he was poking at.


Ok, well im heading to bed for the night, but before i do, i vote to lynch swayde. Reasons have already been listed by others, and i agree with what has been said by them. It makes sense to me, and it seems as if she was making it a point to let everyone know she wasnt going to be around.

I'm not going to rush to make a vote, there are lots of good suspects and I want to see if any of them give themselves away or rise above the others. I don't want to risk losing another innocent.

He says if Sway isn't going to be around to help the town she might as well be lynched. Does that sound like Jo is wanting to help the town? Not IMO

I'm not trying to "paint" anyone into anything, I simply made an observation looking for responses and you and Jo are the only ones to do so, in very different ways. I'm not playing statistics at all, but rather looking for reactions. Is that "cluster" of votes for an innocent not suspicious to you at all?
