Mafia #71 - The Infection

Numbers wise though, if there are 2 pharma and 2 infected to start with, that puts the town at a great disadvantage. Especially since each team will get a turn each night. Makes sense more sense to me if he started with 1 pharma and 1 infected. If there were more people playing then I could see starting with more evils.
I agree with the number of players if there is a "team" at this point, there shouldn't be very many...2 at the most IMO also.

So of course now the obvious question is to Ice.....what made you think there was only 1 on each team?

G walks in her house, turning to lock the door as she thinks of the days events. It was so nice to see friends she hasn't seen in a long time, and the look in Chills eyes when he looked over his cup of coffee at her. She couldn't help but giggle to herself, but she wonders what exactly did bring him back to this town and her old friend Jmax. She shakes the thoughts out of her head she can't think of these things right now so close to bed time. Although thoughts of Chill and the way he greeted her, bring that smile back to her face and a flush to her cheeks as she turns the lights out and heads for bed.

But that's not exactly an odd thing for FF to do. He makes hypocritical jumps all the time. The minute he is challenged he backs off and goes another direction. What is odd is FF's restraint in posting...

I know, but he called out JB (I think it was) for being hypocritical about not posting. I find it odd that he would then turn around and act the same way himself...but it is FF after all.

Here are Dag's posts from the sign up thread on team size...

yeah it could be but if they choose incorrectly they die so most likely not all will be attempting to each night. Also why game is going to start with small number of them 1 or 2. They will also need to take out the hillbilly who can only be lynched.

The Infected:
if 12 players start..how many are infected to begin with? If more than one, do they each get to infect one? Or is this a growth game? If evil, they get a hit every night...
yes they each get to infect one if they choose to but it's at their own risk. If there were only 12 to play it would most likely be 1 person to start with.

Pharmaceutical Rep:

Just one to start with? and they are technically innocent townies?
They will have same starting numbers as the infected. They are not innocent townies.

Hillbilly Survivalist:

Are they an evil or a innocent townie? if evil they get a hit every night...
They are neutral but sides with innocents, they are in it to protect themselves. They win with the innocents so they are going to aim for infected and pharma reps.

The Detective:

considered..?
Innocent but like all the other innocents they can be turned by either the infected or the pharma reps.

just seems like two groups of evils each getting to gain evils per night and reads like each evil gained each one gets to do so the next night....
Yeah that is the basic idea. Two evils with innocents stuck in the middle. If it takes the innocents too long to root out the evils they will be converted to one or the other side.

If the innocents want to win as innocents they will need to take out the infected and the pharma reps hastily. Take too long and you'll have to win with one of the evil teams when you become one of them.

Hope that cleared up any confusion.

If an infected chooses a pharma rep to infect the infected will die. If a pharma rep chooses an infected to vaccinate the pharma rep will die. If both an infect and pharma rep decide to convert the same person on the same night then the person both of them choose will die.

Each night the hillbilly can choose to kill someone (they don't have to). If an infected or pharma rep tries to convert the hillbilly the person trying to convert the HBS will die.

As far as starting team numbers it will depend on how many people decide to play. But since the exponential growth possibilities (remember once a person gets infect or vaccinated they can spread it next night if they want) of the teams it will be low most likely either 1 or 2 people to start.

So Dag did say (see red/bold part) that with 12 there would most likely be only 1 per team to start...since we have 11 I believe, I could see why Ice would think that but it still makes me wonder if he knows for sure.

Only thinking there is 1 per team because of the posts you just pulled from the sign up thread.

Ok, that makes since IMO.

Guys I most likely wont be here for nightfall tonight, so I'm going to have to put a vote out there....but I have NO IDEA who I want to put my vote on, this really stinks!

Ok, so this is what I got for now......

Yeah, what is a smood? Is it some kind of infective organism? A vaccine?
Just throwing out the "infected" thing....

This is a very quiet day 1. Most pharma reps I know won't shut up. Maybe the infection has caused glossitis and those infected can't speak. So far I have no idea who to vote for.

Why do you say this? What makes you think they that....is it only the Pharm Reps, not the infected???
Or do you mean the Pharms are talkative and the infected quiet??

Yeah, makes it tough when there are effectively two evil teams yet only 1 townie team. The only thing in our favor is if we lynch one of the scum we should kill off that team before they can recruit (assuming there is only 1 pharma and 1 infected) and maybe the hillbilly will have a great shot and take the other out. That would end the game really fast.

Because different people have different definitions of a "good" role.

So the catfish was the one who infected you? Like fishy rabies?
Throwing the "infected thing" out there again...

Maybe "it" is the infection? He didn't want "it" in his tanks...
Yet a THIRD time just throwing it out there.

So yep, I no this isn't much of a case...but I vote to lynch Lab

Actually, I thought for a second that the it was supposed to mean innocent townie...like FF was RCing, since he is known to do it even this early. But that didn't make sense since there's no need for an innocent to lay down bread crumbs like that. I started typing a post addressing this but just figured it was just part of the role play. Must be all the reminiscing that brought me back to the famous PMgate lol.

OMG! I thoght the same thing, and that was 60 some games ago....cant we just let it die already?...lol
