Mafia 80: Ghost Hunters

Last night I got home late, after nightfall. I was beat so I only skimmed through the day's events to try to get a general idea of what happened. today I will be off and on trying to go through yesterday's events more thoroughly so I can see where we stand.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here just trying to clarify some thoughts in my head.

Well I read UN's post about his role claim and I thought he was hinting that JB was scum, I didn't realize it was just his attempt at a RC. He could be lying, he's never made it past day 2 in all the games I've played with him. The post that Labby had about there actually being a storm, I quoted it earlier, made it sound like JB had lied about the storm. When it was brought up quite a few people had mentioned they didn't actually check the link, just took his word for it. Because his word is what everyone went off of and FF turned innocent I believed he was lying. Plus the bit i googled and posted that did say there was the chance of sever thunderstorms in PA. I checked where he lived today and his status thing just says PA. His play was arrogant and sure. I played my first ever mafia game on his team and when I was being questioned he told me to laugh it off and treat it as something not serious or a joke. He seemed to be doing that so I suspected him.

Now Bally it seems to me that you had some suspicion of JB but, if I am reading this correctly, UN stating that JB was not a PR is what sealed it for you. Am I reading that correctly?

Read the little snippet below from the layout of the game. Notice the part I bolded.


The Ghost Hunters-They do not know each other at game start, but they have the power to investigate to try and find each other. At game start each will send in a name they want investigated, and at each nightfall there after. Investigations will only show "non-Ghost Hunter" or "Ghost Hunter" until they all find each other. As they find one another investigations will be combined. Once they are all known to each other their investigations will show innocent or troubled spirit.


I think that we can see that just because someone isn't a PR doesn't mean that we should vote him.

UN what the hell were you thinking? I have reread your posts and maybe I am missing something but, it looks to me that you made your case on JB because you knew he wasn't a PR. Did I miss something? If I did please explain it to me because I just for the life of me cannot see it.

my vote is further solidified. Jb is a close second ATM.

I see your interaction with Razz, and while I do not dispute your reasoning here, I am trying to understand your thought process.

What exactly made you switch to JB for your vote?

all I said was that he isn't a PR, and therefore has to be either innocent or a troubled sould/murderer. He would make a good pick by the murderer, and I could see him working together with LR.

At this point, I'm thinking razz is just confused, as is hay. Both seem.... out of it. I vote to take the soul of JB.

Found it and I have to admit, I am still confused by your switch.

One possibility for your play yesterday, and I know this is just more WIFOM but that is all I have right now trying to sort through this mess, maybe you thought JB was a PR and you were hoping to get him to RC to save himself?

I don't know. I don't know what to think at this point.

Pap you're not feeling gun shy at all? After the Un debacle you don't feel any hesitancy in pushing at this?

At least UN eventually gave in...even if it hurt us...would have hurt us more if he didn't and ended up getting lynched because the doc couldn't have saved him (I'm still under that assumption). At this point Bally continuous to act suspicious. Her explanation didn't clear up anything in my mind.

Trying to get caught up while I have a few minutes. I am pretty busy today but should have a good amount of time this evening; same for tomorrow....

Anyway, I am not sure of anything at this point. I do not like the push that happened for JB at all. The reasons for the votes on him totally baffle me! Just because he (supposedly) was not a GH does not mean we can afford to lose him. He is a strong player and a valuable asset to keep around.

Not too sure what to think about Bally's comments; to be honest her recent comments confuse me so I need to to review that later....

Wiz and Chill seem to be genuinely trying to help and root out scum.

Well it wasn't bad but not great either...

Still trying to make sense out of yesterday's posts and have not brought myself all the way up to current yet.

Forgive me if you have already answered this but, how was nightfall not bad?

It could have been worse but,IMO, it was still pretty bad.

Hopefully, with the way votes were spread we can finally start learning something.

At this point I don't have a good sense that anyone is actual scum. They're ranked in the order of scrutiny. If that makes sense the higher the number the more I'm concerned about them. Doesn't make them scum just means that based on what's been posted so far I am more uncertainty about them. I'm not explaining this well at all but here we go:

Chill, what have you seen in Razz's or Bally's play that has you leaning them on the same level of innocence as UN?

On the same line of thought do you doubt UN's posts enough that you are not sure to believe him or not?

I ask because you seem to have the three of them just this side of neutral.

From what I have gathered, the votes on JB come from perceptions of when they were evil with him.

I find it highly unlikely that a player like JB would tell his scum buddies every thing about his game play when he is evil.

I do find it likely that he would share just enough info to help his team mates to be beneficial to the team in the game thread.

So, while the reasons I have seen given may be good reasons to suspect someone, I don't believe them to be enough for a vote alone.

You yourself should know this Kashta. I have no doubt you had reason to suspect him, however, I did not see much difference in his play from other games and was surprised at your vote.

I have seen other's not appearing to be as helpful as they should be and, IMO, a vote on one of them seems like it would have been a better choice based on what has been posted in the game thread.

It's pretty obvious to me that she was trying to frame me by naming me (twice in fact as pointed out by Noods). I kept thinking about her vote on Wiz... which is in the end why I didn't keep my vote on him. I believe him to be innocent at this point. I kept pushing my suspicions of him hoping that it would make the scum feel a little less pressured. When Bally came out with her BS post about me being such a good player and coming up with the plan to turn Labby after she made that post, my suspicions on her were confirmed. Which is why I voted her.

Once I'm dead, and you guys know that you can trust what I was saying; look to Bally and Razz. There is still the slim chance that Wiz is evil, but I don't think so atm.

I'm hesitant to post my thoughts. I know if we aren't supposed to discuss PR roles but thats what I have to talk about and it'd be giving away someone other than UN so I don't know how to go about talking about it.

I'm looking for advice on how to proceed.

Proceed with what?! I just dont get what Bally is trying to say here. If she is not role claiming then why would she insinuate that she has any info that would prove helpful? to cause confusion amongst the townies? To lead us on a wild goose chase?

No I'm doubting myself, I probably misread UN's post and got all excited because I actually figured something out and was going to contribute something for the first time in however many games I've played. Regardless of JB's side I don't think I should continue after this nightfall. I've confused myself, confused the town and might as well be on the scum team because I'm doing more harm to the town than good.

It's just a game, Bally. Don't take my prodding seriously. We all get frustrated... somehow that seems to be part of the fun.:headbang2:

Bally, this is a numbers game...the ultimate loss is an innocents player. I urge you not to quit just because you've dug your own grave. Try to help out instead.

However, the whole confusing theory that was never really explained needs to be brought at least partially to light.

You saying everybody took his word for it and didn't click on the link is either skimming that would make DD look like a very detail oriented make sure all the punctuation is right fanatic, or trying to cover up that you saw an opportunity to take out someone you knew wasn't on your team

What I do not get is the whole thing regarding you saying that you thought JB was scum but couldn't say more because it may compromise someone else's role. When JB asked if you were RCings you dismissed it...can you explain that further? I'm seriously questioning this whole ordeal.

Quoted the conversation surrounding Bally's wierd posts but I still cannot figure out WTH Bally was trying to achieve and I think JB was on the right track. Bally and Razz are at the top of my list for now. I vote to take the soul of Bally. This is subject to change if she can explain what the heck she was trying to do....Kashta pushed pretty hard for JB too but not getting the same scum vibe from her at this point. I think she is just doing her usual digging......
