Mafia 88: Insane Asylum (Game Thread)

I tend to feel someone is male or female based on avatar, the way they post or whatever, but yes some tend to lean toward the masculine when unknown. Although, to say NO ONE knows the sex of other players is a bit off, as there are teams communicating and the "he" or "she" could very easily be a slip IMO.

True, but I don't exactly expect people to not give a standard excuse if questioned. A slip can just as easily not be a slip and be an erroneous assumption.

Plus I'm not exactly sure how the anonymity of the game works within any communicating dens.

From the games I played a lot of the Day 1 talk does not become useful until later in the game. What people say, their relationships with others and their votes can lead to some good info about the players. I think day 1 banter and talk is hard to decipher on day 1.

Doomsday and Narwhal... be quiet.

The only thing so far that really stands out to me is xx_nemesis_xx and his/her/its request that we stop posting. Who would gain from silence? Surely not the town. Her/His/Its recent posts appear to be genuine. Perhaps It/He/She just had a headache from the medications?

When I was a scum one of the tactics we used was to try and turn something small into something bigger to draw attention to an innocent. Like I said on day 1 I find it difficult to tell the difference between people trying to weed out scum from what we have to go with and scum trying to draw attention to other players. But this seems like a little bit of a stretch to me. In post 22 nemesis told 2 players to be quiet, then a few pages later narwhal brings it up as scummy. IDK how I feeel about this.

I classify them as "we" because I was one of them. The words I posted have been lost in this game of telephone.
I just don't see how you know you can speak for the other person nem was talking to. Using "we" implies cohesion or a group. Wouldn't it make more sense to state that nem was telling "ME" (me as in instead of we in your post, not me personally) to stop posting?

I jumped to a conclusion based on a cute little cartoon narwhal with hearts chosen as the avatar. I can't think of any guy I've played with that would choose a cutesy avatar such as that. Plus, if it's who I'm thinking they might be, they're most def female. I could be wrong though.

Why can you make assumptions on something and then turn around and call out someone on possibly doing the same thing.

As of right now Narwhal or Tiburon are who I'm leaning to vote for.

I left out that he embellishes what was said in my opinion

not sure what to make of the narwhal nem interaction. could be team mates being told not to slip up followed by distancing, could be someone that was affraid of their real id being guessed.

starting to see some things worth taking note of.

Maybe I'm missing it but I don't see where Nar is "speaking for" the other person (aka DDay)...

Here is where Nem tells Doom and Narwhal to be quite..

And where narwhal refers to Doom and theirself as WE....

I get that, but how does that equate to nar SPEAKING FOR doom? He/she references themselves as a collective group because Nem had grouped them together by telling them BOTH to be quiet. I fail to see how using the word "we" means anything but that...

in game in which you want everyone to assume your innocent, and in this case largely noncommunicating, why would you classify yourself as being in a group? I find his use of "we" note worthy. Is it substantial evidence to vote someone during the latter part of the game? No, not at all. But in the context of day 1 I find it to be possibly important.
