Mafia 88: Insane Asylum (Game Thread)

I'll be looking up earlier posts in the thread for a while. But I'm not going anywhere and will check back soon.

If anyone has any spare goats I can feed from, let me know. Only had time for a light lunch today. :)

I'm looking at the voting.

At the time of Tree_Huggers vote on HH. The count was 6 for HH, 5 for Nem with only Maelstrom left to vote.

If the scum team had come to the conclusion that HH was made. It's a possibility that this vote is cutting their losses and sacrificing a teammate. What bothers me is the summary of why the vote is placed. "Since I need to vote still and don't see a better choice." Three sentences earlier you say that you think HH is scum, but then you vote because you need to, not because you think HH is scum.

Now night 2

The question TH wanted IQ to answer was something like "who would your vote for right now." Is it possible that TH was just fishing for a reason to vote IQ?

Again, the summary is weak. "Unless something better arises."

TH, are you looking for scum, or do you already know who they are?
D1 I hadn't placed a vote yet and you're right...I saw HH as scummy and didn't see a better choice. If I did I would have voted for them. As it turns out they were scummy. Then D2 it looked to me like HI IQ may be lynched so I was trying to gain info from them in case they were. Yes I said unless something better arises. If later in the day I had found evidence that someone else seemed more scummy I would have moved to them. Both nights I voted for who I said and thought was the most scummy. Not sure why that's a bad thing. If I knew who the scum were I wouldn't have voted for HI IQ.

here, I'm using my friends computer and can only sneak on right now to place a vote. I won't be back on until 3ish tommorow, sorry guys. (I'm sleeping over, and school in the morning)

Anyways, I just saw that BH voted for nobody, which concearns me. He's at the top of my scum list, (for jumping onto my argument, hasn't added very much to the game) and Rickets would be my second. I haven't seen very much gameplay wise from rickets, and it would be an easy scum move to show up, throw out a vote, post some fluff, and then leave.

I'm leaning Tib innocent ATM, just because he has been asking questions and answering them. He could still just be scum trying to appear to help the town, but IMO he appears innocent.

So, I vote to lynch BH

i thought they were pretty good posts.

as i said before, just because i vote with someone doesn't mean i think their innocent. it only means i think the other guy is evil.

i'm not having the greatest day of my life here. went biking yesterday for the first time since fall, and man am i outta shape... went to bed at 10, woke up at 12... have a headache, cough, and am still pooped... and, as if that wasn't enough, i ache everywhere. i am not in am mafia mood today...

as such, i vote to lynch no one in case i can't think enough to find a better choice. will review posts again, but idt that i will be getting anything better...
I am getting very tired of this NO VOTE rule!!

Tib, that video made me laugh so hard I forgot what I was going to look for. lmao.

Before I get too involved looking through old posts, I want to get this out. I already knew what the nightfall results revealed when I read the game thread. On Day 1 the scum hit Star Crossed and on Day 2 they killed CNote. I wondered if I could find something that tells us why they chose who they did.

Star Crossed made good posts from the start. Didn't see any one thing that I thought would make them a target, but they were quite sharp and actively questioning many details the whole day. I did find one post made by CNote which may have drawn their hit.

ah good old day one babble. just the way i left it on Sunday. i have to agree about the Spanish stuff, i only speak English and what my second language course has taught me of Japanese.

this conversation above seems, something like early distancing to me. not exactly sure how i feel about it, could just be a innocent argument over nothing.

As far as guessing who's who, I agree that it could take some of the fun out of the game. For example... if I noticed that someone posted in this thread that their second language was Japanese, and if I could have sworn that, that reminded me of someone I had played with before.:lipssealedsmilie: If that were to happen, I might be able to have a better baseline by which to play this game, and have more insight into his role. :thm:

If something like that were to happen, I just don't know if I could leave it alone.
:welcome:

While I agree that it shouldn't be a huge part of the game, something obvious can be kinda fun.

CNote let it be known that they knew Gunslinger's real identity. That post basically says, "Haha, I know who you are and I'm not going to leave it alone." Even if this was an empty threat, that's a very dangerous thing to say to someone who might be evil.

If Gun is scum - that post gave the mafia good reason to kill CNote over anyone else at random or if their invest result was a regular townie. Gun would feel exposed, vulnerable. They might naturally wonder if CNote could read Gun well enough to tell he was scum.

If Gun is innocent - this exchange had nothing to do with CNote's hit. In that case, I wouldn't see this as strong enough for the mafia to use this as a setup to make us think Gun (if innocent) was evil.

This isn't conclusive proof of anything, of course, but I agree with the questions being raised about Gunslinger. In that regard, I felt it worth mentioning.
