Mafia 94: When Gingers Attack; the play

This post is really, really bugging me:

Kash, when have you ever in a mafia game referred to Wiz as David? Was this post meant for the scum den? As far as I can recall, you have always called Wiz by his screen name. Why did you feel the need to use his real name in this post? I can't help but wonder if you used his real name somewhere else in talking with Plant, hence the need for the explanation.

See, the very next post you use Wiz's screen name:

Now it all could be nothing, but this change up is high on my scumdar.

You're right I've never used his name in a game. (I've also never used it in any scumden either. lol.)

Since the site upgrade, both our names are provided in the text under the screen name. His says David and mine says Susan. With that, there's no real reason to avoid using our first names anymore since everyone can see who we are.

My error, it wasn't JB who mod'd the last game it was FF, lol. JB, FF same difference? JK, JB. Anyway, it was FF who admitted in the last game that HE did do some hand selecting.
I can see the confusion there, I get those two mixed up all the time.

Right, but why use his real name, then in the immediate following post address him as Wizard?

If you will look at her post telling me about her and David, she quoted my post from the game thread when she replied.
I saw you asked her if she was on the west coast, but no where do I see you refer to Wiz as David, prompting Kash to use his name instead of his screen name.

sorry folks, am still at work but did not want to UD. I don't have the time atm to read up and form an opinion but will later on tonight. Again, I know this isn't very toqwnie of me but my hands are tied with work. For now, I will give my vote on what I last remember from the game.

I will vote for Labby due to her pushiness in the beginning as she immediately attacked AAF. This does not say that I think AAF is ionnocent, I am not caught up to give that opinion.

I vote to genetically test Labby

anyone know why the multiquote doesn't go away after posting.

It goes away for me most of the time but when it doesn't, it makes things hard.... Maybe it's your browser? Do you have an older version?

Going through again, I realized I did not answer this post regarding my thought that it is more likely that scum would skip over a player list.

I think for certain players and their play styles, yes, it could be a useful point. I'd be willing to bet when some players get their role, they only read their role and have no idea about the other roles. So if certain players know who their scummates are, they may decide not to even look at the list since they know for whom to avoid voting.

I agree with you, Lab. Weird... Haha JK.

Lol, I am always pushy DD.

I really have no idea where to put my vote. I have several places I could put it based on suspicions, but I don't feel great about any of them. Guess I gotta decide soon.

The one post that stands out the most to me is this one...

Withholding info is scummy. Last game someone tried a similar tactic and was voted out and they turned up scum. I vote to genetically test Pir
Dawg, do you not think his play this game is typical Pir, no matter what his role? It strikes me as odd that you're the kill vote on him when 2 of my current top suspects were tied with him until your vote.

I see Pir didn't like my vote.

This stood out to me... At that point in the game, Dawg had posted nothing but fluff (he even said so in post 218). She failed to even mention Dawg.

Not to mention Dangerdoll...

Kashta, why did you immediately vote Chill for being 'non-useful' when he has been posting (and contributing a little) while Dawg and DD had posted nothing but fluff at that point?

Look at my post, I gave the reason. Maybe the "signal to noise" thing was confusing, especially for younger players, so I'll explain what that means (below).

There were several people still quite inactive.... Dawg is a good example and that's a good reason to suspect him, which I do. I didn't want to UD and didn't think I'd get here in time to see who became more active.... if anyone.

I chose Chill over the others because he has been quite active.... posting jokes and nonsense, participating, and deliberately staying unhelpful. That isn't pro-town play at all.

Here's that signal to noise part... sorry I reverted to using an outdated term. This was the first definition I got from Googling it.

Signal-to-noise ratio (often abbreviated SNR or S/N) is a measure used in science and engineering that compares the level of a desired signal to the level of background noise. It is defined as the ratio of signal power to the noise power. A ratio higher than 1:1 indicates more signal than noise. While SNR is commonly quoted for electrical signals, it can be applied to any form of signal (such as isotope levels in an ice core or biochemical signaling between cells).

Signal-to-noise ratio is sometimes used informally to refer to the ratio of useful information to false or irrelevant data in a conversation or exchange. For example, in online discussion forums and other online communities, off-topic posts and spam are regarded as "noise" that interferes with the "signal" of appropriate discussion.

Now, you say Chill had been contributing "a little" .... I disagree. I failed to see anything from Chill that was a real contribution.

me hearing all this typical of pir has got me thinking. i mean ive never played with the guy before better yet i havent played with alot of you. i think ill re read a little and see. right now ill keep my vote on pir, but its subject to change.
