Mafia 96 Who Are You? Game Thread

Anyone can answer. This isn't actually directed to UN.

I'm not sure so I have to ask this:

Did Wizard tell us the roles would be random? (I've been away from the site a lot, so I didn't actually read all of the sign up thread.... he may have said so there.) I don't see anything in the game startup posts where Wizard told us it's random.

It was in the sign up thread

PM's are sent. All roles were assigned by a random generator. I will get the game thread up as soon as I can.

I usually don't like throwing random votes out and encouraging others to do so, but I can see your point here and think that it could be a good idea for night 1. By night 2 we should know enough from voting/posting to start getting an idea of who's scummy or not.

I thought that roles were randomly assigned? I'll take my chances with voting who looks scummy instead of instantly going after the weakest link. Not to say that I won't vote LBF, I just won't do it because he's unlikely to get a role.

UN this is a misinterpretation of this:

LBF's play is sloppy enough for me to doubt he has a role and for that reason I'll likely be placing my vote on him.

I wasn't saying he was unlikely to get a role. I was saying based on his play and his disregard for stayying in the game I felt it was unlikely that he had received a role. If he had received a role I would hope he would have been playing a bit more carefully.

I find your wording interesting Chill. You mention hitting a player from the opposite team. While this statement is true enough, I would think if you were a townie you would have said that any random vote has a slightly better chance of hitting scum (instead of saying slightly better chance of hitting a player from the opposite team) since your perspective would be that of a townie.

Since Kash brings this up again I will comment again. As I said before my word choice was precise and as I meant it to be. In the first place Lab's suggested wording is not correct. Any random vote has a slightly better chance of hitting someone on the opposite team as I said, therefore if the voter is scum then their random vote had a slightly better chance of hitting innocent. So Lab's wording is faulty but beyond that I had no interest in indicating my alignment in this format. As I said yesterday this is a differnt sort of town then I'm used to.

Dun, the innocents who died were UDs because they didn't. They don't have anyone to blame but themselves. The only person innocents could have killed was FF, who was scum.
pap, i assume you're attempting to be helpful at this point. i'd hate for you to be a townie and still be lengthening my list of suspects. i know how the game works. i also read the nightfall monologue by the game overseer at the conclusion of D1. in that monologue two townies accidentally killed each other due to their distrust and nervousness. they went over a cliff together in a shoving match they both lost. keep in mind, i realize they UD'd on their own accord by not voting and Wiz had to come up with a juicy story to tell in the spirit of the game. i've only read through about 30 game threads before i played...

i also see that there's a good chance that AAF has already sealed his fate due to inconsistencies in voting and confusion on his part in D1 banter. i hope he isn't a townie, but do realize the chances that he, spence and LBF were on the same team were kind of low considering that would make it likely for that team to lose fairly quick.

anyway - i'm not sure i like the way this is spinning. seems you're covering for something. my list of suspects grows...

Lab Rat, I don't get your OMGUS reference in response to my vote. I voted you but you didn't even indicate you might vote me. You weren't poking at me or anything before posting this. Please explain what you meant by OMGUS here?
It was a joke. Hence the exclamation point.

My wording was not faulty from a townie point-of-view, which, if you are a townie, you would have. It is faulty from a scum point-of-view. Do you have a scum point-of-view?

I thought you were referring to why they died. I really could care less about the monologues myself...I hardly read them. I skim to find the results which is why I did not understand why you referred to innocents killing innocents.

Wow this is going to get very boring if this keeps up.

The Guess Who song of the day will be Shaking All Over. Can't post from here though.

Anybody got any suggestions on a Halloween costumes for a group of three people, preferably movie based, that can be pulled together fairly simply?

It is rather slow today. Either we are lacking in suspects, though I cant imagine why since almost half of us are scum or we are all busy beavers. I am try to get some idea who I want to look into. i think the AAF thing has been beaten to death and I am not really sure he is scum at all. It is hard to find a pattern in this format and my sleuthing abilities are questionable at best any way.

I suck at costumes and ideas like that so I cant help you out with that one Chill.

Dun, it strikes me as odd that you keep referring to your list, and adding people to it. I can only speak for myself, but my list consists of everyone in the game who's initials aren't JB. I'm curious who's NOT on your list, and why?
