Does this mean that if the detective investigates the mayor, and they team up, that their combined suspicions can kill a mafia, if the detective investigates a mafia? I just remembered this, what with all of the goings on about detectives, vigilantes, and mayors being discussed....

Can we get a ruling on this...

If so I would would like to use this on Danger Doll. I am talking in here instead of PMing Coler.

Is it possible all three can be taken out in one night? Sovran by the town, OrgeMvk by bkw1982, and DangerDoll by me and coler?

The next morning is going to be crazy.

well, I'll be off the thread for a few hours now.

do the right thing folks you know it makes sense.

JL and I have both offered to commit suicide if my list is wrong. Vote as per my list and if it turns out to be bogus you have 2 certain mafia (me and JL) who have just given themselves up to you; can't be a bad deal.

btw...it isn't bogus

edit : JL I believe that we are entitled to hit someone or to investigate. I say at this stage an investigation each is better play - we have enough of a list to work through for the moment.

I'm looking closely at the people who have yet to post since my list went up and I feel that our last 2 mafia are in that bunch.

only thing is if the vigilante does the same hit as us...to be honest JL, I'm aware that the deal we've offered these folks sounds too good to be true.

I think us now offering in public to privately remove people adds another variable to the mix...there's division and some distrust already on the question of what the bwk ought to do...lets keep our powder dry on this one and see what the morning brings.

We've put our case and the town can weigh it up for what it is.

And now I will be gone for a while.

the mayor can work with the detective in finding out who the mafia are, the mayor will need to find out who the detective is before they can work with eachother, the mayor can PM me with suspicions just as the detective can, but he cannot eliminate a mafia without the detectives help, if the mayor and detective know who eachother are, and the mayor has a suspicion he can share that with the detective, the detective can investigate that person, then come to me with a name, if he is right..he will be told so and that person will be eliminated.

as far as the description of mayor reads....it looks to me like the mayor gets a hit. The mayor's hit (unlike the vigilante's which can be for anyone), must be someone who has been confirmed as mafia by the mod to the detective, and the detective has relayed to the mayor (ie, the mayor can't just whack somebody based on his own hunch)....doesn't confirm how many whacks the mayor gets though. Just one....or can he whack every night.

As far as the rules go... it's surprising that KOTD didn't explain the rules to you DP. To be honest, I've never played with a mayor and the only thing I've read about the mayor character (on Wiki) was (I think) that he could get two votes or something.

I really don't know what to do with the mayor character.

For future reference, any and all special characters should have their roles spelled out on the first post of the game!

I really hate making rules decisions in the middle of a game.

As far as I can tell, bkw1982 has a fish with OgreMvK's name on it. I think us elimanating DangerDoll is the right thing to do.

bkw1982, if you are going to use your hit on DangerDoll, please let us know so we do not waste our hit on her. Really, it is your hit. If you feel better about not using it until you know for sure then that is your choice.

By the next day the whole town will KNOW that one or the other -

That either Sovran, OgreMvK, and Danger Doll are mafia.

That either Coler and Myself are the Detective and Mayor.​

As long as one of the above names dies tonight, the town will be saved.

We will find the other 2 mafia...

I concur....I'd be willing to leave the mayor with investigative powers only if it's okay w/ others even though it looks like the mayor has been give 'hits' so to speak....role wasn't really clarified well, and I'd hate to have that spoil the game.
