Mafia (Sort Of) #7 Sign up thread.

On the Use of EXCEL

Here's what I do: I create an Excel spreadsheet with every player's name in list.

The next column is 'role' i.e. what roles, if any, I have discovered.

Next column is the ranking system. I generally use 1 being bad-guy and 10 being innocent, every starts as a 5 and intelligent, useful posts generally make someone move up a notch while poor ideas (for the innocents) will move the person down a notch.

The next columns are the votes. I put a big block down for day one votes. I list every vote that a player makes and the post number where it happens (like ZSandmann is showing in the #6 game).

Below all this is a sort of blog/diary/comment section. I list the players and any strange, helpful, poor, etc posts that they make and the post number and any thoughts I have about it.

Be careful not to miss anything. A missed vote change can screw up your whole plan.

When the alpha male turns someone into a wolf how are we not going to know?

You can't tell us they died because they will post. You can't tell us they turned to a wolf, we'll just kill it.

I guess if the idea is to give the wolves more chances it will work. Buy them an extra day.

:cool-1:
this sounds like hella fun!!!! i'm going to need to improve my list keeping skills.
having a backup list of players is a great idea as nothing irks me more than when someone quits. extrodinary events not withstanding, i agree with mad when he says it should be viewed as a comittment and quitting only makes the town suffer. hell i was mafia this game and wanted to pull out my hair when dp quit cause there were "too many posts" and she was helping me and hurting the town. i agree with ice when he said anyone threatening to quit should die the minute they post it. its not fair to the townies who already have a tough week ahead of them. Quitting places a greater burden on the rest of the innocents involved and taints the result of this little "social experiment" just my two cents.

thank you ogre. i will ask my wife to help me create a similiar spreadsheet and who knows, she may be less resistant to my playing if i involve her.

Ogre, if it's not too much trouble to have one more person can I join? Otherwise I can wait for 8, like I said before...sounds interesting even if I end up watching though

BTW, Z, you're not going to be able to reference pasta anymore...

It's going to take me awhile to get the hang of this lol. It took me a few days to figure out the mafia/innocent rules :P
