I know bettas are very inquisitive fish. The blue one in my five gallon has kind of...bland living quarters. Unfortunately, I can't put live plants in there, as his roommate is a canniculata snail.
I want to put more interesting things in his tank, but what? He's currently got a rock in there that I thought might be interesting, but it just fell over on its side :\
I don't want him to be bored..

I have silk plants in with mine. He also loves his stump ornament since he can swim inside. He likes to sleep in there. :)

Ping pong ball? I know some fish like to play with those. Also, I'll second the fake plant idea. Just look for the cloth kind because there is less a chance for the betta to hurt his fins on those then the plastic type.

My 2 love to wiggle in and out of the plants and lounge on the driftwood. I am sure that anything like rocks (not sharp) and fake plants will be appreciated.

Okay. I just re-righted the rock, and it has holes he can swim through. Maybe the tv will help keep him distracted too? Lol.
Thanks for the silk plants suggestions!
Does anyone know of a plant a canniculata will not eat?

I like to put a small piece of PVC pipe in for mine to swim through. I use either the short bended pieces or the size adaptors because those don't need to be cut to fit in the tank. I've also done ping pong balls. One of my bettas used to chase the ball while I pushed it around the surface of the water.
