Manx cats ROCK!

I haven't bought a "fancy" breed yet, simply because there are so many homeless kitties to be adopted.

I lived in Livermore, CA where there were a bajillion stray kitties everywhere. We were blessed with a purebread siamese female living in the neighbors woodpile. While she had many litters from various toms, there was one from a beautiful male siamese(owned by someone a few doors down) Lacey was taken at 4 days old, bottle fed, and is now living at mom's at a healthy 10 years old. 2 of her sisters and 1 brother were also raised, but were given to happy homes.

Dangerdoll, how big were your main coons? I understand they can get quite large.

My first one, affectionately called "Feedback" because of his constant need for kitty talk was about 22 lbs..... he was a sweetheart, I got him from some lady who had him posted in the local supermarket. She had already had 3 cats and he son brought the cat home from college... that was her story.... I felt blessed to have gotten him.

This one I have now, she's Katie and is about 17 lbs. Not too big but her brothers were huge... perhaps she's the runt. Whazt's weird is she looks almost identical to Feedback. Both a pastel grey, with white underbellies... Except Katies got a tinge of tan on her nose and her back. Of her litter, they were all born out in the woods in PA, a friend of my sister asked if I waned a cat.... I said no.... no more cats, I was done with the litter chore... then she said, ok... this last one is going to the pound... what else could I do?? ;) So, 6 years later, she follwos me like a dog in the house, loves loves loves her combing sessions, and loves when she tricks me into escaping.... oh the stories I have of this little rascal, hehehe :D

The following thing is one of the character traits I loved in my Russian Blue. She was also rescued from a pound - I got lucky. I remember it was so funny how she'd sneak around behind me like she thought I didn't know she was following me from room to room. And my husband loved her even though he hates cats typically. She even got along quite well with our Guinea Pig. He only survived her by a year - I think he really missed her company.

All three of our kitties are either from the SPCA or adopted us. The last one we adopted, Jasmine (named From Second Hand Lions) Was at my sister-in-laws house and she refused to get her fixed or take her to the vet. One of her kids shot Jaz in the butt, so then and there we adopted her. We had to buy a $60 Sherpa Bag to put her in for the long trip home. She is a nut! Very sweet tho'

Harmon Rabb is our Maine Coon Mix. I think he is a few bricks short of a load, but he is a sweetie.

Pybie (she's Pieballed) is my old sweet cat who is 15. She just ignores the other two.

Never had a Manx, but they sound really neat!
